Fate/Stay Night is a babby's first VN of the worst kind. It's a bad story, a clusterfuck of setting and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive powerlevels faggotry and COOKING. The NEET anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.

However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for anime-only kids who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The Servants all trying their hardest to look cool, the different kinds of Magecraft, the peculiar, colorful costumes, the whole "Holy Grail" faggotry and everything about the FSN world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the angst-ridden character backgrounds, emphasis on heroism, and the overall preachiness of the whole story makes it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes normals and underage retards obsessed with cartoons eat this shit right the fuck up.

Fate/Stay Night is basically THE series to attract the most hated kinds of (self-proclaimed) otaku known to /jp/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this franchise and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no FSN threads ever encourage the Type-Moon fags to show their faces here.

Finished FSN. And it was really, really average.

95% of the cast was completely unlike-able, the exceptions being Shirou himself and Saber. The plot wasn't all that good, though it did have it's moments. The resolution was either extremely stupid or doesn't resolve much at all, depending on which you take.

That said, I didn't hate it. It was interesting enough to keep me reading, but it never wowed me or made me experience any emotion at all, for that matter. The sad moments never effected me, and the 'intense' moments made me go ''meh''. Everything is pretty much forgettable.

Can somebody explain me why people hyped it so much? Because there's absolutely nothing special about it.

I don't know. I'd like Tohsaka Rin a lot more if society took a more lax view toward domestic abuse.

>Emiya becomes a counter guardian and through trials and tribulations gets fed up with his role. Off screen.

Bits and result of it shown in UBW route.

>Arturia fights a losing war and ends up killing Morgana in an emotional blood filled battle. Off screen.

Mordred, not Morgana. Morgana was the puppetmaster who tugged Mordred's strings. See legend of King Arthur.

>Avenger class is summoned and fucks up the holy grail. Off screen.

He just died in one hit, fell in the grail, suddenly DARKNESS INCARNATE.

>Zeltrech and Crimson have an ungodly fight. Off screen.

This is the only legitimate thing I'd like to see.

>27 dead apostles. Off screen.

27 is just the number they had at their height. Several of them aren't Dead Apostles and many of them are sealed by the Church.

>Types. Off screen.

Angel Notes counts as a screen.

That's odd, since people generally enjoy FSN due to the cast. Fun characters are why Type-Moon franchises are so good for shenanigans.

Because Mordred is basically the evil Arturia (excluding the evil Arturia).

FSN itself doesn't really have a great cast.
The character interaction in general is standard anime fare and the development only happen for a select few like Shirou or Kotomine.

Honestly I think people like these characters thank to all the side works and doujins.

Becaus Nssu can't write good things. That's why he let the readers imagine the best bits. And it seems that worked.

In some versions of the legend, Mordred's rebellion reached its height when he stole Excalibur from Arthur.
It could be a permutation of that, "he has a sword like Excalibur so some people thought he stole it". Or something.

The pacing is worse than FSN.

>> No.8032293

>>8032257
You don't know what banter means?
And the fights are definitely much better written in F/Z, the fights of FSN were really disappointing.
And the pacing is definitely not worse, seriously you are being pretty delusional there.

The slower moments of F/Z always some well needed characterization and set-up, there were basically no lost time.
FSN though is full of downtimes that end up amounting to nothing in the end, just padding.

>> No.8032316

The second half of the anime won't air until the Spring, so I'd say watch the first half and then read during the break.

>> No.8032319

>>8032293
I know what banter means, but it is not something particularly good or worth bringing to mention in F/Z.

The pacing is worse. It is constantly jumping between different characters so you can see what they are doing for 5 minutes. It's ridiculous. There is little build up, there is no proper semblance of a protagonist, there is no reason given to care about the characters, it's just like a reality TV show focusing on 7 masters and their servants.

>> No.8032348

>>8032319
All the characters are developed well enough.
Good character development doesn't mean being bashed again and again about every instance of characterization, which is what happened with Shirou.
Which is why Shirou ends up being the only well developed character in FSN
