How many years did it took for you to learn Kanji enough to be able to read manga just like that?

>> No.8024006

Not many. Eromanga uses the same kanji a lot so you get used to reading it after the first couple you struggle through.

>> No.8024007

It took me about 15 years to learn the first 1000 kanji, but once I got to that point, it only took me another 5 to learn the rest.

This. Porn is a powerful way to learn kanji.

>> No.8024018

Do you know that Japanese people use 3000 or more kinds of Kanji ?

>> No.8024022

>>8024018
You do not need to know 3000 kanji to read an average manga. You don't even really need to know 1000.

>> No.8024187

>>8024018
don't you need know like 2000 to be considered fluent tho?

>> No.8024196

You've been heavily misinformed.

Average Jap knows about 1,800 or less kanji. It's not hard to learn that much in a year.

>> No.8024210

You need to know like ~2000 to read a Japanese newspaper. About ~3000 for a Chinese one. If you can just memorize 7 or 8 a day you're set for either language.

>> No.8024245

1.5-2 years to learn ~2300 kanjis. Well, can't really say that that's enough, but it is not that often that I encounter kanjis that I don't know yet.
this post needs moar "that"

>> No.8025603

The amount of kanji in one publication is not the amount of kanji you need to know to read publications in general or to remember words by the kanji they contain.

way too many for a lazy turd like me to even start.

>> No.8025630

Too bad that the brain doesn't work in such a way where once you memorize something, you will never forget it.

I supposedly have learned 1500, but can only recall about 400-500.

>> No.8025636

"Learning" kanji isn't the same as building vocabulary or comprehending any of the words you're reading.

>> No.8025661

really depends on the manga... but i guess 3 to 6 years depending on how much you learn and practice.

6 years if you are lazy as fuck like me
2 years if you study it seriously everyday.

I'm not talking about kanji. I mean, that's time to learn Japanese.

>> No.8025679

6 months, and I went slow.

>> No.8025689

>>8025661
What? Why so long? 2 months tops to read something like Yotsubato, maybe half a year to a year to read more complicated manga (not even, probably), assuming you actually study.
