ggs, that's very good to hear. Youmu is still one of the ones I seem to have some issues handling, because I'm still not familiar with the gaps in her corner pressures. I was a little surprised at the perfect in second round of the last match. Suika match ending was rage to me, because I had so many opportunities to land a 236B alternate and I ended up executing them too late to get killed by the startup lag on my attack.

I suck at handling after I successfully land a j.2A; I really never expect them to land cleanly when I do them. I need to better integrate j.6A into my game after seeing it being using so effectively in a battle on NicoVideo, and possibly start charging 6[A]s for guard crushes. Those, and getting blue wisps to work when I want them to work. As you've seen, you can basically just fly around the screen and I can't setup something to catch you with, which will probably be j.6A in the future.

REHOSTING

>> No.795996

>>795876
Yeah, that's one thing that bothers me about Youmu. She is really good in my opinion, but she lacks a lot of variety; it's basically just pinning you into a corner and keeping you there, and when you learn how to stay out of the corner effectively, she becomes less of a monster.

I also learned that taking to the sky versus Youmu gave me more losses than victories, and that I was severely neglecting projectile setups before I rushed in. I started HJCing projectiles near the end, and I'll be doing that from now on, now that I see how useful it is.

>> No.796058

>>795996
Good god, HJC players are the death of me. I noticed the cancels near the end too, leaving me unable to directly punish your projectiles. On top of that your postioning got really good in that last game, with the brutal bounces when I teched giving you the perfect.

After that happens then I can't get players into the corner where I practice all my combos, and its game over and a turtling game from there on.

In any case, it looks high time for me to start maining a new character.

Also start using some of those skills. Demon lord walk should be part of your main arsenal, just 236b/c. Or the down to forward quarter circle move that most fighers use for a classic fireball, if you're not familiar with this lingo. Start experimenting, find out what your character can do and use it. Remilia has a lot of begginer friendly skills.

I know I was confused as shit when people talked about 5B 412C j.a j.6a 22b and stuff. Then I discovered the wiki.

GGs, Icekin. Your Yuyuko needs more rushdown. Peppering the screen with bullets is good, but you need to follow them in and trap the opponent in a corner. A dial-A in the corner will combo in a 2B for added damage.

>> No.799673

>>799662

Well, you still won, haha. It's a learning process. I mostly go for Reisen just because I get a huge sense of accomplishment if I win. Iku seems to be more about baiting people into you.

I was laughing at the last Youmu x Komachi set we did. If you couldn't tell, I hadn't set up a Youmu deck at all and wound up just tossing out some spellcards to see if they could maybe hit. Otherwise it was just us waiting for the other guy to fall into one of the things we knew.

>> No.799696

>>799673
Heh, I don't get sense of accomplishment with Reisen when I win with her, but that is mostly because she has some pretty good aerial combos and melee priority. Her 5B isn't too horrible either. Here's a tip. 90% of the characters have to ability to hit with a j.5A, and then go immediately into a j.6A -> j.5B. For some characters, like Suika, the technique can be used as an air tech punish for massive damage because they can dash up after comboing the first time and repeat it.
