Not sure what you're talking about. Her only defect in the original material is that her wings caused cracks on her back. She was the first RM, so it's kind of stupid that the guy who made them would leave the 1st incomplete but then go on to make more. Not sure why they did that in the anime.

They weren't planning sequels, so they just rewrote everything for the first season, simply omitting everything that didn't fit. Then, of course, they had to include it back to be able to continue and things got fucked up beyond repair in the process.
