I just dropped the fuck out of university and have no idea where my life is going to head from here.

You should go back to school, OP. Even if you don't want to get a real job after graduating, you'll still leech from your parents for a few more years.

I suggest you choose computer science or the like~

This was only my freshman year so the amounting loss in time and money is pretty minimal. What line of work would best suit a frail bodied, alcoholic schizoid?

Whatever you can get, don't be picky. Nobody will want to hire you until you have some experience, anyway.

>> No.7939198

Well at least you didn't just fail out like which is what will happen to me.

I suggest you go rent a campground. You can get them pretty cheap if you rent them by the year. Clean water. Hot showers. You may or may not be able to get one with nobody around also. Your only problem would be an internet connection.

Well, to be entirely honest returning to university is something I've acknowledged I'm pretty much going to have to do at some point. Engineering 1 was what I voluntarily dropped, as I realized I lacked the motivation and work ethic necessary to deal with the courseload for 5 years. These last few weeks of attending classes have been the most depressing in recent memory, labs and group oriented work being the worst of it. My mind apparently completely shuts itself down, possibly to cope, in any active social situation and I just lose all ability to function mentally and just shell up. The simplest of linear laboratory instruction become completely incomprehensible to me when I'm simultaneously forced to interact with others. How will I be able to function as an engineer if I can't even handle social situations? Also, if I'm ever provoked into such a state during or preceding a final exam or something it's becomes relatively clear how easy it is for me to fuck myself over completely. University life does not suit me at all right now and I'm going to have to work through these mental/social issues before I can successfully complete my studies.

If I choose to return post-secondary in a different faculty I'm going to have to wait at minimum a full year
before registration begins again. What should I major in next year /jp/?

>> No.7939271

I dropped out a few months ago. Don't think I'm going back, I always hated school and I'm stupid anyways so no reason to go back for me. Gonna find something else to do.

>> No.7939289

It's only going to get worse if you don't deal with it now. Do you think that missing a year of school is going to help you develop your social skills? That's exactly what I'm worrying about when I get out of high school. Shit looks fucked in this sector.

I'm hoping if I become employed over this next year I'll gradually be desensitized and become able to cope with the terrors of prolonged social interaction. If not, I guess there's always prescription medication.

University has made aware of how slowed my cognitive processes are. Compared to the extroverted majority I take in, process, deliberate and regurgitate information at a considerably slower pace. I feel immensely pressured around these types people.

An existence of aloof vagrancy seems all which would suit me.

Sorry about your situation anon. Are you really a diagnosed schizoid? If not, I think you should go in and see a psychiatrist. Did you get kicked out of Uni, or just withdraw for the quarter? At my school, you would be able to return as soon as next term. And mental health reasons are a pretty legitimate reason to withdraw. I'd say work out your social anxiety issues (I find drinking and benzodiazepines help with mine) and get back on the horse next term. And by the way, benzos are legitimately prescribed for social anxiety, though you may have to start on something else and say it doesn't work first.

I need money, rent and figs don't pay for themselves and I pretty sure no one will pay for them for me. I wouldn't do shit if I had a choice. No government aid for me, I live in Texas.

Not OP, but I dropped out due to social anxiety causing health problems, from what little I've talked with the university since - they seem to want me to start enroll again, but to give it some time first and not rush it.
