What exactly was Hinamizawa syndrome?

Parasites that made you go crazy if you left the vicinity of the parasite queen for too long.

Rika was the parasite queen's host.

That feel when you have an incredible lust for penis.

That makes perfect sense. K1 had an intense lust for a penis down his throat when he was in the phone booth. He couldn't stand it anymore and tore his throat out to shove it onto his penis.

She wasn't dumb, just crazy.

Also I liked that explanation before INTERDEMENSIONAL WITCHES.

K1 got illusions and killed his friends.

Rewatched the first four episodes recently, it really hurts to see his stupid.

Yeah, but in the end the power of friendship will save them all.

You tend to notice some stuff you didn't notice the first time, when you rewatch it.
For example near the end of the first arc Mion says something along the lines of "Hey Keichii it's a good thing that you are showing interest in Baseball. The manager will be glad" and he freaks out thinking she means the dam manager but she's actually talking about Irie.

>> No.7929537

Why did Hanyuu appear in corporeal form in the last arc?

>> No.7929543

>>7929537
Because it was the last one: she deserved to experiment the funny days like everybody else.

A new disease that caused hallucinations, madness, and eventual death due to self-inflicted harm in an attempt to remove hallucinated bugs from the body.
Brought by foreigners who had built up an immunity and lived in Hinamizawa. Rika is a descendant of these foreigners, hence she has a natural immunity.
Disease was mostly localized to Hinamizawa due to the requirement of prolonged exposure to the disease in order to contract it.
Treatment involves using a vaccine to allow the immune system to learn to fight the disease, but it also mutates, meaning reexposure to a mutated strain will restart the effects. Treatment will be unsuccessful if the disease has progressed as far as to cause permanent brain damage or rewiring.

>> No.7932418

It's caused by the nipah virus:
http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs262/en/

>Human infections range from asymptomatic infection to fatal encephalitis. Infected people initially develop influenza-like symptoms of fever, headaches, myalgia (muscle pain), vomiting and sore throat. This can be followed by dizziness, drowsiness, altered consciousness, and neurological signs that indicate acute encephalitis.
>altered consciousness

>Most people who survive acute encephalitis make a full recovery, but around 20% are left with residual neurological consequences such as persistent convulsions and personality changes.
>esidual neurological consequences such as persistent convulsions and personality changes

>rika was the parasite queen
That was takano's excuse for eradicating everyone.
Funding for her research was being cut off, and she had to prove that the syndrome was real. She wanted to prove her adoptive father's work.

She drafted the emergency plan to kill Rika, who it was believed by her father to be the "queen" carrier, and then carried out the emergency plan in order to "prevent" the outbreak.

The biggest plot hole is that Rika didn't know who the murderer was, even though she is continuously killed by her each time reset.

She doesn't keep all of her memories after each jump, just the main events and other bits and pieces or Lambadelta was trolling.

The real question is, why did Bernkastel go back in time to let Takano live with her parents when that would still doom Hinamizawa?
The better question is, how can Keiichi remember things from Onikukashi even though he's not the one jumping?
The most important question of all is why didn't Hanyu just tell use her God Powers to spy on everyone in the village?.

But hanyuu also didn't remember who the killer was, and she doesn't forget between jumps.

It's yet another alternate dimension.
>The better question is, how can Keiichi remember things from Onikukashi even though he's not the one jumping?
Red herring and infinite possible worlds. You could get to a world where you remember exterminating all the honkies like you did in another world, but you didn't in that one.

But I was under the impression that Frederica was a good person whereas Bern was the soulless one...
So wait, Frederica Bernkastel =/= Rika Furude =/= The Witch of Miracles?

>You could get to a world where you remember exterminating all the honkies like you did in another world, but you didn't in that one.
Sounds like deus ex to me.
