Kara no Kyoukai was subpar, as was Tsukihime. A well done animated adaptation turned the former into something wonderful, but the same cannot be said of the latter.

The Tsukihime manga is easily on the same level as the KnK movies as an adaptation.

But there is no Tsukihime anime, so yeah.

>>7916962
The Tsukihime manga is easily better until near the very end, and then finally redeems itself at the end.

The Melty Blood Act 2 manga is superb, though. I've never seen such a well-thought adaptation for so limited a franchise storyline.

Perhaps. What I was getting at was that Nasu is more successful as a concept man than as a bona fide author.

It definitely had its moments. Shiki/Sion vs. Red Arcueid was simply wonderful. The second act takes the cake, though, for incorporating the Tohno takeover plan from the game.

I love Shiki's kick-that-I-don't-understand.

I wouldn't say so, simply because the two media are so different. An animated adaptation can convey a lot of stuff (especially in terms of atmosphere) that a manga simply can't. This is especially true if the former is allowed to have the required length, which is mostly the case for the KnK movies.
Tbh though, the atmosphere and music is the saving grace of the KnK adaptation, as the original story is kind of bland and made overly complicated by the non-linear narrative. Not to say that Tsukihime is all that deep.

What I would like to see though would be an animated adaptation of Tsukihime in the same style and with the same production values as KnK. (But I'm sure I'm not alone in that.)

I don't imagine she'd be tsundere. She'd be more like a staight-up sadistic ojou-sama, the kind of woman that would claim every man on the first night that they marry.

You figure it might get old after the current explosion of Fate anime adaptations? I mean, isn't the current demand nearing saturation, especially with the upcoming Zero anime?

Oh and Arc is the best, btw.
