How can I explain it? That's like asking someone who likes jazz to explain why he likes it. I don't like it, no matter how much he'd explain I'd never get to like it because of that. Same with 8-bit music.

And yes, a good part is probably nostalgia, but so what? I pretty much only listen to video game music nowadays. I can't even listen to any song in the Top 40, it's all just atrocious.
