You see the maintenance guys where complaining that the swing wings weren't tedious enough to maintain, and they wanted something that's even more of a pain in the ass to maintain.

Any fighter that incorporates passive stealth is exactly one radar suite upgrade away from being just as big a target as a 4th generation airframe. The only difference is that they are less maneuverable when things go tits up.

Is this what you faggots actually believe? We know the F-22 can engage in POST-stall maneuvering with its vectored thrust engine nozzles and people still think it's LESS manuverable?

Besides, it's not "stealth." Just "reduced visibility" which means efforts were made from initial design stage to minimize exbawks-hueg air intakes and the like, and of course the internal stores system + RAM paint coating. For true "stealth" you have to cover the aircraft with crazy angles and shit like the F-117. Then, and only then, are you actually sacrificing performance.

Okay.

The F-22 is more manuverable then anything else in the inventory WITHOUT the vectored-thrust nozzles. Prove me wrong.

Oh wait, you can't, because no substantive data on that has been declassified yet. Well, except for one pilot who slipped up in an interview and said something about "they hit [sixty-eight degrees or something similarly insane] and they want more, so they go post-stall."

That slip up basically revealed that the Raptor's maximum angle-of-attack is insane, and when the pilots hit it, they can stall the plane out and increase AoA FURTHER with the vectored thrust.

Deal with it, fag.

That would be more impressive if dogfighting were a tactic any modern air force in the world still employed.

Then I guess you'll have to make do with the brand-new AESA-based radar system and the tremendously reduced radar visibility, which makes it a lot easier to evade long-range radar-guided missiles. Booyeah.

During the first Gulf War, the Iraquis attempted to do just that. They had a metric shittonne of middling-performance Soviet surplus aircraft. They simply could not compete against even a single American aircraft.
