I have both versions. PS3 is playable up until the ending or a second playthrough under a harder difficulty where it just starts to get extremely laggy again.

El Shaddai isn't a demanding game on a graphics and processing standpoint. In fact, it is often minimalist, using cel shading and backgrounds comprising of barren slabs of nothing. I don't see how PS3's "superior" processing power can give it an edge, when the game clearly is meant to push none of the two console hardwares to the limit.

Bayonetta is actually worse on PS3. Not only does the use of shaders make the graphics look less detailed that it does on XBox 360, but there are also lots more screen tearing, framerate drops and loading times. I also found it uneasy to play with the PS3 controller, compared to the XBox 360 pad.

>> No.7875363

>>7875356
All of that bayonetta stuff is true except the controller garbage. It's clearly preference for most players so labeling it as 'uneasy' in a tech comparison seems stupid.

I think platinum / sega learnt after bayonetta though since I also have both versions of Vanquish and I don't remember noticing any superior version.

You must be new here.
El Shaddai has been /jp/ related since 大丈夫だ問題ない
and all that was first revealed.

>> No.7875952

This game is fucking atrocious. The stages consist of nothing but narrow paths that you run down endlessly, there are like 5 enemies in the entire game, and the combat has as much depth as a rain puddle. The story is complete nonsense too, but that's beside the point.

Yeah the artfagery is nice and all, but just look at some pics on google or at most look at each level for a minute or two on youtube. Anything will do as long as you don't actually play this shit game.

>> No.7875961

>>7875804
The darkness levels are the worst part. Be grateful.

You literally run around in a circle, jumping from platform to platform hoping to randomly come across the item you're looking for. If you accidentally reach the top of the stage before you find your item (which is extremely likely), you have to exit, load the normal world, re-enter the portal, load the darkness stage, and try again.

I fucking hate this game.

It's just a trailer of an action game.

I didn't do that. I asked why a /jp/er would be interested in this.
If you explain this to me, I might come to like it as well. I just don't see what there is to it.
It looks like the archtypical /v/ game, in a Japanese voiceover.

At least Bayonetta had boobs and witches.

It's amazing, but it's more of a really choppy movie than a game. It's pretty much Okami with next to all gameplay removed.

I can see El Shaddai appearing in academic litterature in a few years, on the subject of what exactly constitutes a game.

>> No.7880967

No way, anyone who tries to define a game in exact terms will be mobbed by Wittgenstein's cronies and in any case you don't want to fuck around with a philosopher who fought in World War I, even if he's dead (Speaking of Wittgenstein, why isn't he a Strike Witch yet? Even if it's WWI, he deserves to be a half-naked flying little girl.)
