though, because only one was released on other regions besides region 2.

he is right about /jp/ being about japan general. Otaku goes past figs, dolls, lolis, doujin, touhou, Vage flashlights, and living in the dark alone naked. Otaku is to emerce your self in Japanese culture.

otaku simply means "one who is obsessed". and yes, it's every bit as derogatory as it sounds. maybe even more.

I forgot to make it clear in my post. my argument was that the "otaku culture" name of this board is meaningless because over half of 4chan is some gathering of otaku of some sort.
