That's why I'm "sometimes" happy that the customs are really cool here in europe. I also think that if some guy at the customs act like you just said he would be beaten to death by an angry customer and then condemned guilty for not following some obscure respect for the customers laws.

The customs would also be heavily tagged and then burned at night.

Amazon gave me a coupon for 70% of the price i paid which is kinda useless because if i tried to buy anything the same would probably happen again.

i actually ended up overpaying because the customs charge you when they have to store you package for more than X amount of days, but never actually notify you. i didn't find out it had arrived at the customs until i phoned DHL to ask them why was my order taking so long to arrive, so i had to pay for 10 days of storage, which ended up costing almost as much as the product i ordered.

I still import things every now and then but only through courier services, they're very expensive but at least they don't steal your shit.

I'm gonna have to pay around 90 dollars for the premium edition of totori but don't give a fuck

Well so far I had luck I guess compared to >>7872304. Customs here are like this, you get a notification from the customs demanding you show them a receipt (PayPal for example) and then you just go to the post office where the package is, pay the tax and you have the package, no questions asked (the package is opened but the product's packaging is left intact, I guess they just check it's not anything illegal). Though they're very random, they had me pay taxes for things just a bit over the limit but all my 2hu figurines just slipped by them unnoticed even though I would have to pay them some 20% of the price.

Sometimes if they notice you aren't very well informed they will try to over charge you and keep the difference. Import taxes are only 20-21% but I've seen people paying 50% because the employee handling their packagemade up some bullshit about importing rights or whatever. This is why you should never go alone to customs, try take someone with you, preferably someone who knows a thing or two about laws.

I wish I knew why customs people are like this. Public employees enjoy all sorts of benefits, they're pretty much set for life, they don't need to steal to pay rent. Fucking assholes
