Help me out, /jp/. I got Windows 7 and Touhou is no longer working. I've heard changing my locale to Japanese might work, but I wouldn't know where to change it, since it's pretty much loading a blank screen with just a background for me.

The subject of 2hu is ancillary to the true topic of your thread, which is getting programs, specifically those of a particular niche, to work on Windows 7.

No, but it makes you pretty retarded.

Or I can ask /jp/ because many people probably run Touhou on 7 and know what my problem is.

Touhou works just fine on my Windows 7. I have absolutely no idea what could be wrong.

>> No.7850166

It's an old HP N62330 laptop though. Perhaps thats the issue? It worked fine with XP before.

Get AppLocale, then run it in Japanese.

Why the fuck you run windows 7 in an old machine. That's retarded and you doesn't deserve our help.
Protip: Newest software assume that your PC is more potent. Don't instal office 2010, you are fine with the 2007 or even the 2003 version. For the love of God revert to XP. I'll run that OS until the end of my laptop days

The locale setting is in the regional and language options, at least in Vista. Probably a bit different in Windows 7. It's been too long since I used Windows.

My hardrive failed, and my friend no longer had XP. He had 7, so whatever. It works fine, Touhou and MPC aside

Not him, but why even use Office when you can just use OpenOffice or Google Docs?

Also 2007 is bloated shit. Even 2010 runs better. Failing that just get a pirated 2003 if you really need to run Office so much

>> No.7850246

This is quite annoying. Re-downloaded Embodiment, and it loads the initial screen, but only halfway and the background. Nothing else.

Does acceleration work on your computer? Run dxdiag, and go to the Direct3D tests and see what happens.

It's just an example to prove the point. The thing is: don't use software that is ahead of your PC generation, it won't pay off. That only apply if you have a shitty and old computer like my though

Linux master race reporting in. Just go install Ubuntu or Debian or some shit and it'll run fine in Wine.

Don't be, I think my problem is that I have an old ass computer. I can't watch anime on MPC+CCCP or VLC for some reason. It says DirectX error, but my DirectX is up to date.

Guess it can't be helped.

maybe try this it will find out if you're missing any DX runtimes and download and install them automatically

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

you'd be surprised sometimes really old versions of DX get updated and fuck up everything

I took that pic on a machine with an Nvidia ION gpu, which works fine.
I can definitely recommend Intel, they make great Linux drivers. ATi on the other hand is quite terrible.

The window manager I use is called XMonad.
