Cirno is actually pretty much the strongest knownfairy (not saying much). Considering that in her PoFV story she basically gets yelled at for being too strong for a fairy, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say she's the most powerful one in Gensokyo.

She's stronger than some minor youkai. That's saying a lot, not that being one of the few fairies to even need to use the spell card system wasn't already an accomplishment.

For all Lily's strength, she's just a midboss in every game she appears in.

There's probably a fairy queen or something somewhere though.

Unrelatedly, I wish there was a Hua Po in Touhou.

Nothing clearly compares power level in Touhou, period, but the word of the Yama is pretty close. The fact that it's not necessarily canon doesn't mean anything unless you think that Shikieiki was actually lying, since she's stating facts that aren't dependent on the route's canonicity.

And "could have been trouble" is a far cry from being scared, let alone "shit her pants" level of scariness.

Kinda. Not "this is what happened" canon because sometimes it's later said that Reimu solved an incident, or whatever. But you should assume that generally anything in the games could have happened. Although you have to subjectively filter some things out because Touhou is full of weird jokes, like when Marisa talks about videogames in SA.

Actually, yes, "this is what happened" canon. Extra stories tend to demonstrate that all routes have, in fact, happened.

And Reimu solving the incident is perfectly consistent with this - because she in fact did. Along with other playable characters.

Cirno is a veteran of Danmaku, uses the spell card system, and has beaten Marisa. She effortlessly shoots down her own kind. She can even defeat the Yama in Danmaku.

As for her ACTUAL strength, that's an awful lot harder to tell because Danmaku doesn't necesarilly equate to actual power. It normally does (Rumia weak, Yukari strong) but not necessarily. Even the fighting games (which still has her beating the likes of Yuyuko, Reimu, Yukari, Suwako etc) are presented as Danmaku battles seemingly so we'll likely never know.

But as far as Danmaku power ratings go, she's one of the strongest.

No they don't. Which ones do? MoF sort of does, but it's very vague about it. ZUN tries to make it sound like anyone could have done it by making them all familiar with what happened and the new characters and places.

Most of the game stories could only happen once, and most of the others would be absurd if they happened more than once. And within a route, there's nobody else with you except for the girl(s) you chose. I don't know where you got that nonsense theory.

Looks like just IN's. I still can't put any weight on what amounts of a weird de-abstraction of video game fact. It can't make sense. When you're playing, there aren't 6 other people with you. They don't show up later to re-beat Eirin or Kaguya who has already capitulated. I could buy the fact that everyone did go out that night, but what I'm saying is the details of each route can't coexist, so they are just true possibilities.

I really don't see where all the asspain is coming from.

Cirno holds a little bit too much power, enough for the Judge of Hell and Paradise to call attention to it. So she's certainly stronger than the average fairy.

She might be the strongest of her kind, or she might just be significantly stronger than most fairies. She might be the strongest fairy in Misty Lake, which could explain where her insufferable attitude comes from.
