>Since I'm going to finish Atelier Rorona with Astrid Ending sometime soon, I feel like playing a similar game. Can you guys tell me how time management and befriending are done in Mana Khemia 1 and 2, compared to Rorona?
>>7823753
>Mana Khemia 1 and 2 have virtually no time management. The only critical part would be getting as high marks as possible in the assignments to buy as many 'free time' slots as possible so that you can do all the character events. To equate it in Rorona terms, you'll want to get 10 stars or close to 10 stars as possible with every assignment so that you have the option to finish all the character events or take up job requests for more cash.
>Except for certain timed assignments, you are free to spend as much time as you want grinding, gathering materials, synthesising a storm, completing as much of your Grow Book as possible and fine tuning your equipment to the point where every one of your party members has their own optimally tuned set without worrying about time.
>Unlike Rorona (which I think is kinda unique in this regard), base ingredients don't have their own innate traits which then transfer into the items. In MK, the traits on items appear depending on the Ether/quality level of the item with advanced items that require synthetised items inheriting pre-existing traits.
>If anything, the MK series is incredibly soft management and synthesis wise and are a nice way to introduce people to the Atelier series.

Sounds like it might be cool. I did find Rorona's strict time management quite iffy (honestly I mainly like Rorona for the characters and for having a different story/plot for an RPG). Although I hear Totori is more lax with that. Still, my interest in Mana Khemia just grew.

>> No.7824300

>>7823957
From what I hear and not having played it, Totori is more of a sandbox approach rather than the rigid segmented assignments of Rorona.

MK IMHO is a really light Atelier game. The emphasis is far more on the action/gameplay rather than the management. The synthesis is also made more palatable because of the grow book and feedbacks into the combat system because a well synthesised set of equipment will go a very long way. It's certainly my first recommendation if anyone is interested in trying an Atelier game moreso than Rorona which is more for the hardcore synthesisers and scheduler masochists.

GUST also recycles a lot of their VA cast...

Luca is a slut

>> No.7824543

>>7824540
I'm sorry, but has Luca even engaged in sexual intercourse? Oh, that’s right. She hasn't even made contact with a man outside of dive therapy. In fact, it’s only therapy involving fields for soothing. Does not having a cliche tsundere personality make you a slut? Is that what you’re saying? Because if you’re saying that I can assure you that you’re wrong. Why would you make this topic when the game is already finished and we know for certain she is pure? Luca is a holy maiden now and she was been the purest maiden in Metafalss? Luca has to go up against one of the sluttiest reyvateils in Ar Ciel who just happened to have a lead because she was praying on Croix's innocence. But you know what? Cloche is still a whore. Luca is the best heroine in all three games, she has the best songs. Luca has already won Croix over, she would have done it sooner if it wasn't for her tragedy with her sister throwing her for a mental loop. Maybe you should shut the fuck up before you make retarded topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when Luca is proven a better waifu than any other in AT2. Cloche tries to latch on to anyone who would have shown her a different and free life. Are you retarded? Are you autistic? You are a fucking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I’m fucking serious. I almost have a feeling you’re the only guy making all these anti-Luca topics because you’re a faggot hater who doesn’t like a heroine because they’re canonically pure. Fuck you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fucking idiots on the board, like I give a fuck. It’s so easy to spot out your threads now, you’re a retard. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don’t you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fucking life try not to make a topic like this. That’s just you, you’re always right at getting it wrong. Fuck you. You are nothing.

Thanks for taking the time to maintain a mediafire folder for us OP.

If I'm not mistaken, that's it for the install points. I've had a great time so far and learned a lot about vectoring.
I still have a few more ideas which I'll be implementing as my free time permits.

Anyway... thank you. I love you guys.

Very nice. Great work on the vectors, it's appreciated.
The Mediafire folder isn't quite complete yet. It'll be a few more days before I complete my uploads of the various FLACs (not that it'll matter that much once it's all done and dusted)... and I also botched up the OP...

After the FLACs, I'll be uploading the AT1-2 art books (2's is a bit low quality...)

I'm starting to understand what you mean. I'm currently at the 4 weapons part and I'm getting to the point where I automatically fall asleep, whenever I enter "new dungeon x which isn't all that new since I'VE BEEN THERE FOR THE 500TH FUCKING TIME ALREADY OMG SOMEBODY MAKE IT STOP".

As much as I like the characters (Compa being the exception), I'm really close to just giving up on the game all-together.
Please tell me that mk.II is better ;_;

how do Revytails work? Do they have built-in synthesizers to provide the background music while performing hymnos? Do they carry around a pocket-size orchestra? Some musicians that stalk them wherever they go?

This is driving me crazy.

>> No.7826221

>>7826189
Considering that the songs are basically command prompts for the tower it is very likely that playbacks wouldn't work, since the song server does crosschecks for the extract type hymns. The background music would just be fluff so if it was synthesized is not a big deal.

This would defiantly hold true for the extract type hymns, since those control the tower directly and require a Hymn Code to be used.

Well, atleast, at that point you're almost done with the main story.
Also, I might have been distracted, but until I speedran all the dungeons for the platinum trophy, I didn't even notice that many were being recycled. But by that point, I could finish most dungeons in less than 3 minutes so it was less painful.

And it's still better than Drakengard's recycling of maps and retarded conditions for weapons.

I have bought Mana Khemia for PS2 (actually twice, since I found both normal and limited edition for 9.99€), but it's sitting there in my huge PS2 backlog. What I wonder is, how is the PSP version? Exactly the same? Improved any? I find I actually have more time to play this kind of games on portable stuff.

By the way, until an unfortunate wipe of the memory unit, I played Atelier Annie for quite a bit on the DS. How 'hardcore' is it considered for an Atelier Game? It seemed to me that grinding was even harder than Rorona, since a single random battle could take several days to trigger(even tho, leveling up was pretty quick, too).

Or at least all the talk topics and cs events voiced.

If they didn't look like AT3, sure. If they managed to make it look awesome like Meruru (in a different style, of course), I'd be totally fine with buying them again just so I can play them in widescreen / 1080p and get all the other (possible) benefits of the PS3.

>> No.7826690

I don't have a problem with AT3s design at all. At2 wasn't problematic either, it's just a style progression.

Still annoyed at the lack of voices in the NTSC US version though. I just recruited Jakuri, can I expect some voice acting in story scenes again sometime in the future?

>> No.7826697

>>7826504

How would they ruin the art style? All of the portraits are done by Nagi and any of his recent stuff looks much MUCH better than his old stuff.

>>7826500

Yes. Personally I'd just prefer everything gets a visual overhaul but otherwise remains the same as the original. Update the portraits, sprites, CGs, throw in some bug fixes and up the difficulty then At1 & At2 would be awesome.
