why are there no american doujin eroge? when you consider how much work people put into making sex mods for games like oblivion and the sims the logical next step would be making an original game. since there are no censorship laws an american game has the potential to be even better than jap ones.

It's more work than you think. Nothing would of that caliber would ever sell well in America, and even if it was being put out for free, it is just a shitload of work.

I had an idea for a game but I don't have any useful skills to actually do anything. the basic concept is that an incubus gets his powers stolen and contracts with a human to get his mojo back. there would be rpg elements where you get exp for doing stuff and you could spend it on upgrading your powers and shit. at the end of the game you fight the subccubus that stole your demon guy's powers and then if you have the right flags you can unlock her as a secret character.

I wouldn't be suprised if there were already a dozen games like this on the moon, but I think it would be cool if someone here made something like it.

I'm not sure if many musicians, programmers, artists and writers want to be tied into pornography.

And I can easily see some political activist group or some pettifogger suing to shut down a hypothetical American eroge company with a jury made up of Christians and soccer moms siding in favor of the plaintiff under some pretense of "protecting the children" or because "Jesus told them it's wrong."

Making a game from scratch requires many times the hours, talent and coordination than its does to modify some models and skins.

The HF community does make games but they are just little sprite games with sex pictures.

The big companies can afford to fight off lawsuits and video games are generally seen as something for kids. Some small upstart video game company can't afford to fight them off.
