So, normally I am in /tg/ and /k/ and even occasionally lurk in /b/ (0 point in posting there)... but I am a newfag in /jp/...

I have an upcoming trip to Tokyo, Chiba-ken, Narashino-shi, Yatsu area in September, and I was hoping to get some recommendations from /jp/ as to what I should not miss while there.

I am very interested in /jp/'s opinion, seeing as how this is basically a fan club, I would think you guys would have some good suggestions. Thx.

(pic quasi-related; it's temple wishes, can't read 'em, though)

Hello fellow fatty. Here in /jp/ they hate everything and everyone new. Repost your thread but remove all sentences which make it obvious you're not a regular and you should be fine.

OP here.

Ok, got it, Friday in Akihibara.

Op here... ok, so on to /trv/, then... no other actual travel advice from /jp/?

I have been reading about maid cafes. Meido (sp?) Sounds like an interesting experience. Does /jp/ have any experience there? Any specific suggestions for which cafes may be more American friendly? Which ones will offer the best service/experience?

Also, have you guys ever heard of this themed restaurant called "Ninja Asakasa"? (link to relevant article: http://dining.in-japan.jp/2007/06/ninja_restaurant_in_akasaka_to.html )

Ok *sigh* giving up on /jp/.

RAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEE!

I'd like to point out that Japan/General has failed to provide me any General information about Japan, and is therefore useless.

From what I have read, /jp/ is composed of pervert, weeabo, manga, and fail9000.

But then I was like, tlol.

Depends on whether or not you like historical sites.

I loved Yanaka, which felt more like a small town than a suburb of a giant fucking metropolis. It's famous for its massive, well-maintained, and very old cemetery as well as having a lot of ryokan, an art museum out of the artist's massive, traditional-style house, some interesting shrines, and some traditional textile makers. I bought a hakama from a tailor in a tiny shop while I was there. And everyone was polite to me even though I was a stupid whitie.

Asakusa is in the same ward as Yanaka and it has some neat historical sites as well.

Obviously Akihabara (and Yoyogi Park, IMO) are must-sees, though.
