Lastly, it should be noted that the hikikomori phenomenon is similar to the symptoms exhibited by people with Pervasive Developmental Disorders in western cultures. Japan has the highest incidence of Pervasive Developmental Disorders, a group of disorders including autism and Asperger’s syndrome, in the developed world.

This game is a nightmare if you don't choose a standard resolution...

>> No.7802573

A severely over-polished and overrated game. It's truly sad to see that almost everyone is falling for this bland, tasteless "FPS" with a few extra functions and twists being thrown into it, but then again the majority of the sales was of fan-boys from the original series which was actually decent for It's time unlike this buggy, frustrating repetitive garbage. The developers strongly focused on creating an interesting and original story followed up by polishing it so much to the extent of hiding the poor game-balance and mechanics, obviously this failed in early stages so they decided to add several extra functions as they cut off all the original fun stuff from the first game, such as "Hp regeneration" which turns items useless, having the strongest "Healing" ones give you a temporarily 25 of 100 hp boost (which cannot be recovered if lost) and there is no other way to recover health but painstakingly sit and camp as you wait for it to go up behind cover leaving their original idea of "Less camping, more playing" down the pipes, not that they've seemingly bothered to properly beta-test it to begin with seeing all the bugs. The game also utterly fail at the stealth-mechanics as when you grab someone, the game actually freezes the time and if a guard got 0.001 seconds to see you before the instant-grab, he'll alert any nearby NPC's at a wicked range without actually having to say anything as to where advanced security cameras can spot you for several seconds in clear range without doing anything. Obviously you can go do a faceroll spec where you stack cloaking and energy to simply run through all the levels in no-time leaving little time for any kind of shooting, even less so with the Less than Lethal weapons whom are IMPOSSIBLE to get any kind of ammunition for and once you do get some god heavens know how, they'll get consumed in a snappy.

>> No.7802581

Much like any other ammo you find in the game off heavily loaded NPC's whom strangely only seem to drop 1-3 bullets at most leaving any kind of commando play useless meaning they are intentionally forcing you to play as much stealth as possible in order to shoot all the guns you collect in oh did i forget to mention, there's no real storage other than a tiny inventory that must be expanded with non-refundable very costly skill points? Yep. You can't keep all guns or items you want, but use them at the go and hope for the best. I was first intrigued by this game due to the resemblance to Alpha Protocol where you could modify both armor and weapons very specifically. Here you simply take box A containing upgrade A to gun A, and box B containing update B to gun B and eventually spend non-existing skill points on some remotely interesting features with your augmentations before you realize that if you don't top prioritize all updates towards functionality you won't be able to finish the game at all. The promises about "Game changing choices" is pretty much a scam as well where as if you let guy A go, you meet him around the corner as he gives you some money an hour real-time later and that's it. No kicker, no plot-changing, just short cash/information drops later which has NO IMPACT ON THE ACTUAL GAMEPLAY. Full conversations are only unlocked with main protagonists/antagonists where you can unlock a cheat in your augmentation and get access to three more choices which can "convince" the one you're talking with to another course of action depending on what expressions they have given out during the course of the talk but which sometimes are inaccurate and in the end the only reliable function to use in this game is Save&Load. Yes, that's right. You can save at practically anytime and reload that save without any consequences. I mean jesus f*ck. I'm not even gonna bother typing any more in regards to this failure of a game.

I bought this game today after reading many positive reviews, excited to finally play a good game released this year. I wish I hadn't. Initially I wrote a review saying this game was mediocre, now I've played it more and have come to the conclusion that it's terrible. Bad graphics, loooooooong load screens, bad writing, bad voice acting, bad character models, just bad. You can shoot at anything you want, most of what you shoot at shoots back...ok. But, wait 5 mins and everyone will forget that you were just killing them and talk to you as if nothing ever happened. Wanna kill cops? Go ahead and don't worry, they won't hold it against you even in the police station. Also, one odd thing is that every other person in the world is smoking, as if Marlboro sponsored this game. It has nothing realistic about it but it's not trying to be cartoonish either so it comes off as just awkward. It also has many moments in it which are nearly word for word/scene for scene plagiarism of other games. During the intro I had to make sure I was playing Deus Ex and not Mass Effect 2. Save yourself some money and wait on something better. Been a bad year for games, this one didn't help. It hasn't been buggy for me and does allow keybinding and graphics options that a PC game should.
