Drinking for introverted and extroverted people is an entirely different process. People with anxiety disorders tend to drink alone exclusively, using it to dull anxiety and depression. Extroverts use it socially, and to make casual sex easier, like college kids or frat boys. They very rarely drink alone, because it's seen as a "loser" thing to do. Benzo addiction and dependency is also extremely common among people with anxiety or social disorders.

Honestly I only do that because they do jack shit after a couple of weeks of regular use and sometimes I just need something to kill the anxiety.

I have a few close relatives who suffer from alcoholism, slowly rotting away. Seeing them made me terribly afraid that I might end up like them so I have been steering away from alcohol and drugs ever since. I just don't believe that I would be able to hold myself in check if I start down that path.

I go through 30 .5mg xanax in a week or so. I've been biding my time to get my doc to bump them up to 1mg, don't want to set off drug seeker flags. Valium is ok, IV ativan and midazolam are excellent, never tried clonopin.

I usually buy a few bottles at a time so that it lasts me for a while. I hate going out to buy alcohol. I get drunk (alone, of course) about once a week. It's fun, helps me not take things as seriously and just forget everything for a little while. After that, I usually sleep the whole day away because I hate that fucking headache. I also keep some pretty heavy medicine from when I had a pilonidal cyst.
I wish alcohol bottles didn't look as intimidating.

The stuff is expensive, and it is hard enough for the necessities to go around (food, electricity, internet, rent etc) as it is, and still, be able to afford some kind of desired merchendise sometimes in between the months.

They also interfere with pretty much any kind of hobby I have left.
You can't play games properly for shit while drunk/high, nor can you write a single line of code without multiple errors. Even reading becomes a hassle when, given one wants to actually follow the text in any meaningful manner.

So it's costly, counterproductive in regards to whatever hobbies/things left to do I have left.
This alone is enough for me to wonder why I would ever waste my time/effort/savings on something like that. But I guess my reasoning isn't of the ordinary.

Im sacred of taking meds, so the doc gave me a plan to take only 0.5 and increase it perday, been on it for about 3 weeks now, so im taking the full amount of 30 mg, which is still a small dose. Im taking it because i get such bad anxiety that i pass out or get sick and have panic attacks.

What's happening here is benzo addiction, even if you (or your bros) have prescriptions for them. Your (or your bros) addiction is what's causing your anxiety, and the reason you (or your bros) have to take so much. What you need to do is go to a detox clinic and have them give you chlordiazepoxide (benzo with longest half-life) and use it to slowly detox yourself (or suggest it to your bros) from the benzos. If the doctor decides he doesn't want to prescribe them anymore, you guys are in for a world of hurt. Months of withdrawals punctuated by almost constant panic attacks and sometimes even grand mal seizures.
