How about having a general danmaku thread.

Also, I'd like to play around with the TH13 spell practice. Throw me challenges (pacifist, nonvertical, etc.) for single spellcards and I'll try to fulfill those.

>> No.7801181

Pacifist spellcard 123 seems like the only interesting challenge in TD for me. I'm not that good, but the other challenges don't seem like they'll be as tough.

>> No.7801194

How many lives does Mushihimesama Arrange throw at you? I can get 3 in a normal run, so if I could get one more life I'd probably be able to survive the TLB.

I still don't entirely understand counter banking, but if there's more extends to be had I'd sink some effort into that rather than fucking around on ESPgaluda.

I still haven't 1cc'd Ten Desires; I can get to stage 6 easily with Reimu A without paying much attention, but I feel she's a bit overpowered in the game so I keep trying, and failing to clear it with Marisa or Sanae (I simply cannot use Youmu effectively in this game). For comparison, I cleared UFO in a week and this is meant to be easier than it.

I remember having 5 spare by the final boss, that was without losing any prior (or maybe one, this was a while ago).

As for scoring, have you tried reading this?

Any stick with Seimitsu parts should be best for shooters. The Hori EX-SE was the best one last I checked, but it can be hard to find

Personally, I use a Street Fighter 4 TE stick with Sanwa parts (which are looser than Seimitsu's since they're made for fighting games) and I think I've done well enough with it. It doesn't really matter what you use, as long as you've got the skills. I think the Dodonpachi western record was done on a keyboard for example.

For TH 12.5-13, I suggest making a .bat file with the following code:

@echo off
md "%CD%\user"
set "APPDATA=%CD%\user"
start th125

Replace "th125" as appropriate. Make one for config too.

What it does is change the save and replay data directory to a sub directory within the game's directory, instead of appdata.

Reimu isn't really underpowereding 10D. Sure her talismans are a bit dumb, but they clear out a stage fairly well. Her versatility more than makes up for the marginal difference in power.

Rargh. Took the TLB in Mushi Arrange down to 25%. If it weren't for a few really derp mistakes in the run that cost me a few bombs, I think I could have had it. Something tells me I'll get the clear in a week or so of trying.

I am so sick of dying on stages 2 and 3 in Futari. If I can only have one decent run, I think I'll be able to hit 3 billion God mode. But I always ram into bullets on easy patterns like a retard. UGH.

You mean,

That feel when you keep dying on Stage 1 from a bullet that spawned on your position because you think of it as no big deal and try to act cool and collect all the items as soon as they appear, staying above the autocollect line constantly and restarting over and over until you ragequit.

Some days, I have to imagine a Gunnery Drill-Sergeant screaming at me to ignore the powerups if I want to see beyond Stage 2.

Cleared God mode with Reco in Futari Black Label earlier today, got a 2.8 billion score. Really fun game. I think it's the Maniac style scoring system that really pushes Futari to the next level - the Original/Ultra scoring system where you just switch shots and point blank everything is nowhere near as good.

But with that being said, the combination of 1.5 Original, 1.5 Maniac, and BL God pretty much makes Futari the greatest shooter of all time.

Randomly picked up EoSD after having not played it for a month today and 1CC'd it on my first try with Marisa A and 3 lives remaining. I had some stupid deaths but generally I felt really good about this, lots of unfocused dodging I felt proud of. This makes my 1CCs so far MarisaA PCB and MarisaA EoSD. Hopyfully I have another MarisaA 1CC by the next thread.

You can totally do that card with just vertical dodging. She only gets two or three rotations in before the card is over.

Ten desires on normal is really really easy, but after you're done with that IN and MoF are both pretty easy too.

Just don't get too aggressive with spirit collection in ten desires.
