I'd assume with all the SWR / Meltan threads some of you use gamepads for the PC.

What's the best PC gamepad for that purpose?

PS2 pad.

I hate the Touhou fighters, but I always use that for the superior SHMUPs; I use it solely for Touhou and other games on my computer and it completely busted (there like 20 piece rattling around in the controller), but still works fine.

>> No.777479

Another person who uses the playstation 2 joypad here. Though mine's a 3rd party one which refuses to let me use the d-pad for movement, so I have to use the (actually better than the official pad's) analog sticks instead.

>> No.777505

I just use a 360 controller because I'm too cheap to buy a real arcade stick, and too inept to build one myself. Works fine. USB adapter for a PS2 controller is great if you don't already have a 360 controller. Had a PS2/N64 one but it broke. Shit's like $10 so it's the best budget option.

1. Stick is the best. No contest. But it's hard as shit to get used to it and it costs a shitload.
2. One of the best PC gamepad would be the logitech dual action (see image). Watch out, there's a version with a shitty d-pad and one with a good d-pad. Image has the good d-pad
3. If you are already used to another pad, like a PS2 pad, get a usb converter.

>> No.777523

I use a wireless Saitek p3000.
Over a period of 7 years I've broken 2 of them, so on my third iteration, but still never found another controller I like anywhere near as much.

>> No.777549

Right now I use a thrustmaster dual power 3 - mainly because its a bitch to try and set up my Hori stick for any Touhou game.

The pad isn't great for fighting games, but its pretty good for racing games.
