August = Eighth Month
八月 = Eighth Month
October = Tenth month
Octo = 8

Easy mistake.

October used to be the eighth month of the calander, but Julius and Augustus wanted their names on there, but didn't want it to be in the dead of fucking winter (because that's when all the death happened) so everything from September onward got pushed back two months.

Ergo; ZUN Is correct, but the Romans fucked it up for him.

So.... when you can't remember a month in a foreign language, it's an easy mistake to try and reason out the appropriate name by tracing the dead-language roots?
This doesn't seem roundabout to you?
Granted, you do have a valid point, but it's pretty bizarre. Not impossible, but still....
