So she can look into the past as well? Can someone explain me exactly what this girl ability is? The whole ''I can hear 10 convos at the same time'' doesn't seem to be all of it.

Actually she's both.

She can be a pervert since she can look into every moment of a person's life (supposedly 10 people at the same time) and she can also be a detector seeing what naughty things the person has done in the past.

Not sure how this helps in battle though.

Semi-related to OP, but reading the wikia just now I realized the samesake of Tojiko was married to the character Mimi was based on, while Futo's namesake was married to the character Tojiko was based on.

Yes, she's cute.

But, for me, I think it was more about how I immediately realized what she was supposed to be a Touhou version of when I first saw her, and I loved it. Also, I loved fighting her as a boss, it was just a blast, and the arrow-danmaku is so cool.

When I first battled her, I thought of the story of the nue who haunted the emperor, and was shot with a single arrow and was defeated. Though, the TH13 cast are from the Asuka period, and the story of the nue is from the Heian period.

>> No.7756654

>>7756628
Eh, a number of things. Trances are absolutely depressing to me, it's like hypers but makes things less interesting than any other hyper I've ever seen. The scoring system isn't terribly fun, and makes you die far more stupid deaths than is tolerable for me.

I guess I haven't really gotten into it much to see its merits, but then again that's part of the problem, it doesn't make me want to do so.

>> No.7756668

>>7756628
I don't like the new life system, I can't know how much I fill each of my hearts whenever I pick up the pink spirits, sometimes I notice it doesn't even fill one bit.

They also add extra mess to the screen and can get tricky on highly active parts of the stage.

>> No.7756672

>>7756654
>and makes you die far more stupid deaths than is tolerable for me.

Except the game is extensively easy, even easier now that you have a secondary bomb method, and if you time them for the right moment on a stage you basically get free lives and bombs out the ass.

Also I don't think i've ever blind cleared an extra stage before Ten Desires, hell I still haven't beaten Suwako.

>> No.7756681

>>7756672
I'd rather die to legitimate difficulty than die to trying to move entirely around the top fifth of the screen and/or the stage spawning enemies under me when I try to grab spirits. It's relatively easy yes, but this isn't really a point in its favor.

>> No.7756700

>>7756681
To be fair, the game gives you way more than enough room to maneuver the top.

You should know better than to charge in blindly, even though they come in really predictable waves. If you want the spirits that badly, trance and get a huge multiplier on it. Sanae would be a good choice for scoring that way since her ability lets her regain her trance gauge faster.

>> No.7759803

>>7756672
FUCK.

Just now did I remember that I could manually activate trance, so much wasted Hard attempts that could have resulted in success.

>a secondary bomb method

...that's rather punishing if you screw up and die randomly. Oooops, there goes the meter you were building for lives and bombs you miss everything. Yes, the game is easy (for the most part) but it's also frustrating.

Removing auto-trance on death would greatly improve my opinion on 10D. Popping one trance skull at a time would be nice too, but that would be pushing it too far in Crimzon Clover's direction.

Of course there's the ever-present, ever-annoying, ZUN-style difficulty curve. On Normal, Mononobe wouldn't even be a stage 3 boss. Meanwhile Timo Maas no Miko is the hardest end boss the franchise has produced.

What the hell? Sure, she has a lot of spellcards, but half of them are pathetic and you can bomb the other half. She's one of the easiest.

>> No.7760619

>>7760536
She only has two really easy cards, Guse Kannon and Ikaruga-dera (which can catch you unaware with it's randomness and speed). Falling Stars gets worse than Astronomical Entombing.

You can bomb your way out of any boss, but that doesn't mean they aren't difficult...

As a person that absolutely sucks at Touhou games, most of Miko's cards aren't that bad. Sure, she has tons of them, but they're pretty doable although still kind of tough for me, unlike most stage 6 bosses which trample all over me. I see her non-cards as bigger threats than most of her spellcards actually. I'd place her as one of the easier stage 6 bosses at least.

>> No.7760696

>>7760682

Perhaps, difficulty is rather subjective. I've played through her with Youmu and Reimu, most of her cards are inconsistent captures for me. Other stage 6 bosses usually make me use a ton of bombs just to get by them. Some I still haven't managed to beat.

>> No.7760782

>>7760696
Nope... After running her through practice mode, I'm over-rating her by a far bit it seems. Chaotic Dance is hilariously easy when you find out the neither of the summons have a hitbox. Figured out the rings on my 4th time playing the card.
