I.. I'd like to admit to something.

I believe I committed a sin of shitposting on /jp/ at least once in my life, asking for translations of a random picture or alike, so I decided to muster up some courage and plunge myself into the world again, in the hopes of learning Japanese in some actual classes to redeem myself I tried self-education, but I'm too lazy and gave up all the time.

I'm going to a model school... and the people there are fantastic. Completely different from anything you see out there in the society stereotype! People randomly chatting while listening or singing along to Vocaloid songs, tossing about random Touhou or Bento topics. Under a cherry blossom, two kids are playing Dragon Quest IX. Our 21 year old teacher is pumping out Kung-Fu generation on his laptop speakers to whoever wants to listen. The Taiko students perform to everyone else on lunch break.

And then... and then... my classmates call me over and ask me if I'd like to practice some Hiragana calligraphy with them. I was moved and started crying in front of them.

You're probably thinking this is really dumb and irrelevant, but I realized something when I had my first class two days ago. Learning Japanese the right way isn't just about memorizing a bunch of random scribbles. It's also about the social interaction to a certain extent, which makes things fun and bearable for you. So I'm sorry I shitposted, /jp/! I promise I'll try to be a better person from now on, and actively contribute to tell people to fuck off when they ask for translations on things, so they can experience the same things I have. I love you guys!

It's not surprising that there's a Japanese school in Brazil that does totally not suck. in the 1900's, when Brazil was the king of coffee exports, a lot of Japanese came looking for work. They had plenty of time to settle in and get comfortable with the hue culture.

And now, Brazilians and Japanese are totally bros. Hurray for you.
