Attention!
Having waifus is an /a/ related habit. It doesn't belong on /jp/. So if you have a waifu and intend to talk about it, kindly leave.

/jp/ is for translators, artists and scholars of Japanese culture only. It is a place to create original content and engage in meaningful discussions.

Now that this is settled, please continue.

Some people on /a/ actually believe that /jp/ fansubs their nerd cartoons.

Attention!
Shitposting and spamming the same kopipe every day is a /jp/ related habit...

I guess there's no problem here.

I have no Idea why but when OP said "So if you have a waifu and intend to talk about it, kindly leave." I burst out laughing

I'm fine with anything as long as the number of 2hu threads is reduced.

2hus are the cancer killing /jp/.

plz fuck off to tohno waifufags

>> No.7718224

/a/ uses "waifu" to mean "character i beat off to the most," /jp/ and its waifus actually respect the beauty and sanctity of marriage

>> No.7718244

>>7718224
they don't even actually beat off to them, most of them use "fap to" as synonymous of "I find her hot"

Have you observed them in their rooms to verify this?

HISTORY OF WAIFUS.
Before the board split, waifu's were kind of a joke meme, nobody actually took that shit seriously. After the split, /a/ became more popular, and normalfags, looking to fit in, latched onto waifus in an attempt to seem more like "oldfags", using what they thought was a legitimate thing, being too young to understand sarcasm. On /jp/, none of this shit really occurred, so waifu's were still the joke they always were.

The problem comes from the newer members of /a/, coming to /jp/, which is a step up in post quality, like the great move away from /b/ a few years back to other boards. As time goes on /jp/ will be overrun by these children, and lose everything.

"Mai waifu" was always serious, friend.

I don't agree with you about the difference on on quality post between /a/ and /jp/, sure, back in 2007 /a/ was being overrun by idiots, but right now things are a lot better, average /a/ user has matured.

For example there are a lot of good threads about anime/manga, during the 53M /sp/ was actually more excited than /a/ itself (the get itself was mostly ignored), most of the userbase learned to just ignore annoying posters, etc, now compare it to /jp/ today, a board that feels stagnated, that gets easily trolled (see Tera threads), and with the same one liner threads and image dumps.

Of course I'm not saying that one board is better than the other, each one has it's own charm, I actually like both.

>"Mai waifu" was always serious
it wasn't, because it wasn't even born as "mai waifu", it was just some retarded spelling that took on afterwards. Basically someone on 4chan just started copying ore no yome for laughs, then people who didn't know any better started taking it seriously and we ended up with that retarded manifest of the waifu movement or something. You think japanese use ore no yome seriously?

I thought the origin was from Azumanga Daioh. You know, when they find the teacher's family photo.

>/jp/ is for translators, artists and scholars of Japanese culture only
