/jp/, what do you think of 999?

Really cool, I stayed up to 5am for I couldn't stop reading it.
Still, the science is weak, since it's all pseudoscience, that is. But still awesome if you pretend not to know better.

Brilliant game, we had threads and threads of discussion on it when it came out, 10/10 Ever17 devs please make more.

Pros:
Story before the ending
Characters
Theories and pseudo-science used are interesting

Con:
Dat ending

I played the game only recently, but it was pretty decent.
Kinda disappointed by the very end of the true ending, though.

You're all being rather misleading. Takumi Nakazawa was the lead writer of Ever17 and creator of the Infinity series. Uchikoshi was only a sub-writer. When Nakazawa quit and Uchikoshi took over, we got 12Riven.

999 isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as good as Ever17.

I'm glad I did the routes in the order that I did them, shit really did come together just like Ever17.

I thought that was the perfect way to add a silly tie-up of the loose ends and add to the bright mood of the ending. It isn't something that one should think too deeply into, rather it was something added in for clever "wat" value.

They're completely different mediums.

999 is an adventure game with strong story elements, Ever17 is a fully story-driven visual novel. 999 is limited in scale to the DS, Ever17 is a massive story contained in thousands of scripts.

>> No.7710472

I, for one, absolutely loved the pseudoscience. It really added to the amazing suspense they built into the story, and the sheer amount of red herrings everywhere kept one guessing. I also really loved how they built a fully functional backstory out of them as well.
