It's one of those things like the NEET detective, the "have no friends" part is just to fish for unsociable people to buy it, the story is about people doing things and having fun together.

>> No.7694036

None.
I used to have a couple of friends in middle school.
2 of them I would call my close friends, though we slowly lost contact during high school. In high school and the during the short time before I dropped out of university I didn't really have any close friends, but there still was a group I hanged out, went drinking, and played tabletop roleplaying games with. But since the only reasons I interacted with them were common interests and circumstances, once I dropped out I didn't keep in contact with any of them. So, for the 4 years or so that I've been a NEET for, I didn't have any friends, other than /jp/.

>> No.7694048

friends... depends on what you mean by "friend". People I hang out with (and that doesn't happen often)... a couple or a bit more... all normalfags. Real friends? zero.
I used to be part of this group of guys that I met on an anime forum and we used to meet IRL, but they all "grew out" of them... except me. Actually I went even more down the line of otakuism. I wasn't even a NEET back then. And that's why I'm here now.

>> No.7694061

about 12, all of them online.

>> No.7694098

My own circlejerk consists of 6 people.

>> No.7694109

Well. If online friends count, I have 2 of them, who are long time friends from playing mmo, and who I still talk to. Both are normalfags, sadly.

>> No.7694126

Friends...? None. I have no one I consider a friend I can count on.

>> No.7694142

I used to have many, but then I realized having friends is pretty much useless.

If you actually have one or more close buddy you can trust with your life then that's great. But if you have no friends at all, trust me when I say you are not missing much at all.

>> No.7694156

I had some in highschool, mostly thanks to the mask of normalfaggyness I wore.
Now that I don't have to face socialization anymore, there isn't even one person I can call friend, and I'm more then ok with that.

>> No.7694209

I have a very close friend I've had since 4th grade. He's the ultimate bro and I know nothing will ever come between us. The others from high school. Around 7-10 total, with 3-4 of them being close.

I haven't made any new friends since then. It's really difficult to meet new people in college. They have less similar interests than ever.

Anyway, I honestly feel sorry for you guys without friends. I really do. It would be unbearable for myself. You guys could start being friends with each other, you know.

>How many people are in your close circle of friends?

3 friends when I was in school, 1 friend when I was in the university and now I have zero because we live in different cities.
I also have one girlfriend from school, she's quite hot but obviously I'm in her friend zone.

I wish I could find some nerds with the same interests near me irl. But that's not going to happen.

That depends entirely upon whether you live near anyone remotely likeable that's into your hobbies.
As far as America goes (I wouldn't know anywhere else you see), the chances of that are total shit if you don't live on the east or west coast.

Yes, I do. I don't have to interact with anyone, keep appearances, care about someone's opinions, delicate feelings and other shit. Friends or girlfriends might not be bad, if you could receive only their benefits without dealing with the shit that comes with them. Because it's impossible, it's better without them.

Used to have like 3 close online friends and a decent circle on real friends where as someone might have thought I was normal.

It's much better this way.

>> No.7694396

0. I used to hang out with a group composed of NEETs and FREETERs, sadly they were mostly normalfags and had social skills worse than mine; they would disagree with you for the sake of it, berate each other to feel better and all kinds of nasty stuff. I guess I was really naive to believe everyone at the bottom rung of society would be nice to each other because of their social anxiety, but there actually are NEETs/FREETERs with nasty attitudes.

Only person I really considered a true friend was my childhood friend. We were both smart but he was smarter and much, much more ambitious while I was extremely lazy and had social anxiety. I stopped contacting him once he went off to Medicine school while I had been a hikikomori for 7 months... I felt like I was keeping him down.

I have one very good friend since middle school, we were always "the two left alone" by our classmates so we came to stick together and it somehow worked out.

We are both kinda smart with no social skills at all. He's kind of a normal, sure he plays games an read manga on occasion, nothing much. I'll never look down on him for being a normal because he never thinks my "otaku hobbies" and weird fetishies are wrong.
Mutual tolerance and trust, that's frienship, right ?
