One HUGE reason there are errors is because you need to download the updated wizard that has a preset Artificial Academy profile.

Downloading the newest version of the Artificial Academy Hongfire Patch would help you in more ways than one, since it comes with a modified version of the wizard.

1. Why are you trying to install locally? You should be using an ISO or image file along with a virtual CD drive such as Daemon Tools.

2. The directory structure is all wrong. The installed files should be in C:\illusion\Artificial Academy that is the directory that the Hongfire patch will look for first.

For both the Character Maker and the actual game, you have to manually rename during installation. For some weird reason the registry is incredibly bitchy about the files being setup during installation. So instead of Kanji, you have to make the destination folder "Artificial Academy".

Is that site even still around? They recently got into major trouble from their host.

Sorry to ask, /jp/, but I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I get this error when I try to start the game, and from what I can tell from machine translation it's about not being able to read the settings file. I've tried googling for an answer and it's not in the technical help part of the wiki.
Have I gone wrong part of the way? I installed it into C:\illusion\AA and C:\illusion\AAEdit, then ran the HF patch into C:\illusion\AA.
The character editor seems to work fine, though.

This is definitely looking like it is going to be one of Illusion's more overlooked games by otakus.

For the time being, if you want to make in-depth mods, it requires you to replace default options.

Unless the expansion will be dedicated towards making the game more customizable, it is looking like the modders will continue focusing their attention elsewhere.

The game makes you have to replace and delete shit to implement new things so thats no surprise. AA as it is now is not very well thought out for what should be a long term game for Illusion.

I wasted so much time making a community of touhous in the first sims game. Not only did I make ridiculously detailed homes for them I went through all of the community and expansion pack plots upgrading everything I could. The ski lodge in the holiday area was a fucking 5 star hotel by the time I was done with it.

Still waiting on sims 3 touhou skins that aren't just ports of the sims 2 versions. Their clothes don't morph when you change their body shape and the hair is horribly low quality.
