It's an investment-type form of business. If you had a ton of capital going into it, you could make a respectable amount. So /jp/ I have the option of buying the Rider on the Motorycle GK, fully painted and assembled for around $290. I am considering trying to talk the seller down but am curious if $290 is actually a fair price. The statue seemed rare as it is so I thought I'd see other opinions.

Pic is the kit but not the actual thing I'd be buying.

Hey /jp/, I figure you guys order from AmiAmi often enough to know if they'll be okay with this. I ordered two Homura BQ's and now, after looking at the quality, I really now longer want them. Thing is, in December they're re-releasing the Sonico figure. Now her total comes up to more than the two BQ's and I was wondering if AmiAmi would do an exchange? Reason I want to ask you guys first, is I've heard it's somewhat easy to get banned from AmiAmi. Plus, I wouldn't mind some pointers on the email in case it would be okay. Isn't that partially due to surrounding costs? Like the person who bought it in the first place probably had to pay shipping and toll for it. In some cases you might need double the price just to not end up losing money on re-selling the figure.

I've been noting down some of my costs. 6500 yen figure, 2200 yen shipping, 2800 yen toll. That is about 5000 yen in addition to the price 6500. Meaning that selling for twice the price, I'd gain 1500 yen, assuming buyer pays shipping, and I can find a box with filling for free.

Might be possible to make money if you buy large enough shipments of items. That or picking stuff up from places who ship as "gift" instead of Amiami or HLJ.

There are a lot of problems with the whole "buy figures to sell then later" ... to start if you bet on the wrong horse (say, Saber Excalibur) you are not going to make money, you are likely to lose it, we never can tell if someone is going to take off or not ...

The ones that can really play this game are the Japanese because not only are they safe from the exchange rates, pay little about shipping but also they dont pay the import taxes many of us do ... also they have access to exclusives we dont.

Their only real issue is language barrier and that is why the ones that act as proxies can make a killing.

What is the best way to remove this glue without resorting to a screwdriver and prying? Thinking soaking in GooGone or something might remove it.

Oh wow, the guy at the post office was trying to convince me not to bother with the appeal. Didn't have any stamps so had to go there to mail it, payed in pennies (to send the appeal) just to annoy him, about time I got rid of them. So I had to spend even more money on their crappy "service" to get my money back, at least it wasn't much at all to send it. They should make it all online, much faster and cheaper.

Regarding tax/toll, it annoys me more than anything that they actually have a part labeled "handling".

You have to pay them, for charging you a fee. I swear it is only used to annoy you, because I'd rather it was just part of the fee and not added on top just to rub it in your face.

I've never ordered from Mandarake before and I've been looking at getting something for my first order.

Most of the pages are easy to understand or are in English but I ran into a few of the figure I wanted and this was the cheapest.

MFC has been going down the shitter. I don't really pay attention to the images since I figure it was mostly going to be artsy-fartsy bullshit. The new blog/article thing has truly pissed me off though. Sure, it was a good idea to expand the reviews to articles, which under my impression, would be written for useful things like buying/displaying/repair/custom tips and whatnot. Anyone had to deal with Paypal getting into a mood about making foreign currency payments? I was looking at the currency exchange options because fuck their 1:75 gouging, and now they don't like my credit card.
