They're not routes. More like quick H-scenes, then a dead end in Extra (i.e. Takeru raped to death), and an end even more depressing than the other ends for Unlimited.

Yes, it was an emotional rollercoaster. You think you screwed up and got a suicide Sumika end, but that makes the ending more satisfying.

I have a feeling, though, that the ending text, that even though time may wear down their memories, that as long as they are together, they can step forward is going to haunt me once I reach alternative.

Everything's going well until Valentines day, and then they have a fight because You thought Takeru managed to grow just a bit during the climax of Extra? Nope.
Being "I've got it Sumika!" "No Takeru-chan, you don't understand!" repeated like 5 times over with aid of classmates not helping. Until Tsukuyomi and the other 3 show up, tell Takeru he "won" a ticket to a hot spring trip for two to try and make up with Sumika, he goes, fuck that. Goes and finds a part time job, earns enough for his own damn trip. Come graduation day, Tsukuyomi shows up to pick up Meiya's diploma, says some stuff, tears here and there from everyone, Sumika and Takeru still haven't made up. Takeru goes off speaks to Tsukuyomi near that fucking tree, Sumika pops up, Takeru fixes stuff, more tears, everyone is happy the end. But the terrible repetitive drama makes up most of it. Jesus Christ was that bad.

Liselia's route had me crying and being happy for a while. Then I raged at Falset's end. Took me a while to see her as a tragic person oppressed by her socio-economic status. Almost took me 2 years to get back into Torta route because of the sense of betrayal to Aria. So, yeah. I am pretty sure the last two routes will be an emotional roller coaster for me. Supplement is nice for the pre-Extra side stories. Those are nice.
Maybe Muvluv Duelist if you can into Rumbling Angel. Few can.
AF definitely.
Haruko Maniax is worth grabbing for the really really funny omakes. Pic related. Main game is nice for the H, I guess.
Chronicles 01 is kind of bad, but TDA00 is nice to set up for TDA01, and Chicken Divers is great.
Chronicles 02 has a very funny side story, Adoration and probably the second best entry in the franchise so far after Alternative, TDA01.

I'll go and do a more thorough summary of the frustration that was the Sumika After Story so you guys don't have to waste time. I thought it would be a bit more like the Nagisa After Story with more HNNNNGGSS and DAWWWWS, but nope just LOLDRAMA that was totally illogical. Takeru had his stupidity magnified ten fold and Sumika was hardly even acting like Sumika.

Game starts on February 7th. 2 months after Extra's Sumika route. Takeru and Sumika are still treating each other as they normally have as childhood friends. Sumika complains about how they've only done it one time since they started going out. Takeru thinks she's talking about sex (the one in Extra's end). Takeru mentions this and Sumika is both apalled and embarassed as she was talking about how they've only been on a formal date once (Also in the Extra end). With that things get a bit awkward between them. Takeru thinks about what she says and decides he'll invite her on a date sometime over the three day holiday. So the next day in the morning Takeru asks Sumika if she can go out with him. She reluctantly refuses saying she had plans with everyone on each day (one day with Class Rep, one with Tama, and one with Ayamine). Takeru is shocked and ronery. She promises to go with him on a date the week after though, also to replace the Santa Bunny.

During class that day Sumika goes out with everyone leaving Takeru out. Takeru gets miffed by this asking Sumika why she didn't tell him. Class rep tells him it's not the only time that she's gone out with everyone without asking. Then Takeru goes into a personal dilemma wondering "Am I becoming a possessive loser?! NOOOO". Then he reluctantly accedes letting them go. However he feels thinks that this is all a plot by Class rep and decides to go all Metal Gear on them and follows them. However he gets caught by Marimo and Yuuko (he strangles Marimo so she doesn't make any noise) and is then forced by Yuuko to watch Marimo's cosplay. You then get shown the Metal Gear GAME OVER screen. He goes home, talks to Sumika a bit on the window and Sumika says that she can't tell Takeru what she did today, making Takeru even more suspicious.
The next day he sees class rep going to Sumika's house. He wonders what's going on and hears Sumika screaming (trademark Aitaaaa). He then fears that class rep is teaching Sumika her ways of domineering way of speaking (Takeru dubs class rep's 口撃). Takeru fears that it's because he isn't serious enough is why Sumika is learning from class rep. He rushes to Sumika's door, mashes on the doorbell and screams to class rep to stop her plot, and apologizes to Sumika saying he'll be more serious from then on so don't listen to class rep. The two girls needless to say have no idea what Takeru is talking about. Class rep then admonishes Takeru saying he's totally stupid to not know what's going on. They leave him and Takeru dejectedly goes to the arcade and meets Kashiwagi Haruko (the basketball girl during the Lacrosse event). They talk a bit and Kashiwagi tells Takeru how he's not being himself and that he should be more forward like he always

Takeru thinks about what Kashiwagi says then tries to talk to Sumika before Ayamine gets there. He says that on the 14th his parents are going to be out of town so come over my place and we’ll have dinner or something. Sumika then says oh wait my parents will be out too and I was planning on inviting you over to my place. So then they decide to make dinner together and Takeru asks if she can spend the night too. Sumika says yes and Takeru gets excited. Ayamine swings by and they panic wondering if she heard their conversation. She didn’t. Time skip to the night of the 13th. Sumika knocks on Takeru’s window talks a bit then tells him to meet her outside. He does, wonders what she wants. She gives him a Valentines day cake and Takeru shits bricks thinking ohhh I really was stupid not to notice this. Sumika gives the cake to him on the night of the thirteenth because she wants to be the first one to give him a Valentines day gift no matter what. They kiss, say can’t wait till later today, etc.

Next day Sumika and Takeru go straight to the supermarket after school to buy stuff for their dinner. They make it with Takeru helping out a bit. There’s a ton of food, and a good amount of it Sumika learned from everyone hence why she was spending the weekend with everyone. She learned cream stew from Tama, Yakisoba from Ayamine, and Chikuzenni + Cake from class rep. Then she has the tonkatsu which is her own specialty. It’s all good everyone is happy. Then Takeru asks for soy sauce for the tonkatsu. Sumika is appalled saying that you have to eat tonkatsu with Teriyaki sauce. It’s simply inhuman not to do so. Takeru is a soy sauce kind of man and refuses. They argue over it and Takeru refuses to budge saying he must eat his tonkatsu with soy sauce. Sumika is the same way except with teriyaki sauce. Takeru then nabs the soy sauce and pours it on the tonkatsu. Sumika rages and runs back home.

The next day Sumika doesn’t come to wake Takeru up, and they’re both still raging at each other. Everyone’s wondering what’s going on because they’re supposed to have gotten closer after Valentine’s day. Takeru tells everyone about the Soy Sauce-Teriyaki Sauce Incident and everyone just wonders how they’re fighting over something so stupid and Takeru agrees. During break Takeru realizes he doesn’t have lunch (since Sumika usually makes it for him) and goes to the cafeteria to buy bread, but comes back empty handed as he left too late. He comes back and Tama gives him a lunch box saying Sumika told me to give it to you. He goes oh thanks Sumika, opens it and sees it’s jam packed with tonkatsu and totally drenched in teriyaki sauce. Takeru takes this as an affront and rages at Sumika even harder. He refuses to even touch it. Sumika says she made it FOR him and he’s still not even going to eat it? Takeru rages saying that even if you made it for me, I’m not going to eat what I don’t like. Sumika explodes and throws the food all over him then runs out.

The next day the fight proceeds to a more “cold war” like fight with both of them silent and breaking the mood of the whole classroom. Class rep then calls Takeru outside and tells him to apologize. Takeru refuses to since he doesn’t feel like he did anything wrong. He should have the freedom to like the kinds of foods that suit his taste after all. Class rep agrees with his point, but says he should just fold and apologize anyway as it’s disturbing the entire class. Takeru goes “alllright fine” then goes back to Sumika in the classroom. He apologizes saying this fight is stupid let’s make up. Sumika agrees saying she doesn’t want to bother everyone in the class either, but asks one more time that if he’s apologizing for not eating the teriyaki sauced tonkatsu as well. Takeru says he’s not apologizing for that, but wants to make up with her so the class doesn’t have to be troubled. Sumika says Takeru is fooling her for saying he’s apologizing but not really apologizing. Takeru then explodes (why.jpg) going what the shit let’s end our damn argument can’t you see we’re bothering everyone? He slams the table a few times asking why she’s so adamant on this stupid fight. He then incites her to speak up about why she refuses to budge screaming along the way. Sumika still refuses that apology then finally yells back (in the classroom) that she doesn’t care at all about the damn class, this is something between us that’s even more important than them (why2.jpg). Everyone goes silent, the classmates all walk out and Sumika runs out crying. The homies talk to Takeru going holy shit what you gonna do, and Takeru goes lol I dunno.

Time skip a few days (18th) and class rep and Takeru are outside talking. The class fortunately took a hear no evil see no evil approach and ignored what Sumika said and acted normally. Takeru attributes that to the fact that they’re graduating in less than a month so bullying or starting shit now would be stupid. Takeru then gets all apathetic and emo saying you know what this stupid fight started because I wouldn’t compromise and suit her tastes as well, and now everythings all in the shits. I don’t care no more no matter what happens even if we end up breaking up over this (Wut). Takeru is still pissed on why he has to apologize about the teriyaki sauce stuff and that it’s stupid for Sumika to be so butthurt about this incident. Then Sumika goes that’s not the point anymore *sob sob*. Takeru then asks whyyy. Then Sumika goes on saying that the whole time Sumika’s been learning about what Takeru’s likes are and have been putting up with it. But we can’t always be like that always be like that. Takeru apologizes for being selfish all the time. Then Sumika says it’s not that… Takeru goes then WHYYYY are you like this. Sumika tells him that he has to find out himself. It would be meaningless if she just told him. He then starts raging and goes WUT JUST TELL ME BITCH. Sumika starts raging because Takeru starts raging. After more argument Sumika runs out in a fit of rage. Yuuko goes well that was a fail lol. Then she says it’s true that you have to find out yourself. Class rep and Takeru go wut you already know? So looks like the plan was to knock Takeru out cold while Sumika runs to help him, but it failed. Then the whole crew comes out in the shadows saying sorry duuude. So then she goes on saying life is full of give and takes and that you help others for your own benefit. She then asks Takeru what he thinks “life” is and who has the responsibility of your life. She says yeah sure you’re a student so maybe you don’t feel like you have full responsibility of your life yet, but nope it’s all your responsibility. When you step into society you’ll realize that the world is totally unfair and that you’ll be the one that has to take full responsibility for your life. Ayamine says that if what Yuuko sensei is true then you won’t be able to trust in anyone in the world. Then Yuuko says to trust in someone is your own responsibility as well and that trusting in someone is to place personal risk towards a desired outcome and that you gamble that the person you trust in will reach that outcome and alleviate the risk in total giving you net personal gain. As students the risks go onto teachers, parents, etc. so students continue to rely on others and as they gain without personal risk. Then she says that because Takeru started going out with Sumika, he’s stepping in early to society where he can’t place the risk on anyone else. She gives Takeru another hint in that Sumika is thinking about Takeru’s and her own lives they’ll be sharing together.

They’re like… wokay… So then he works (in other words black screen > date change) then class rep is surprised that Takeru made it to class before him. Apparently he hardly slept and though just going to school would be a better idea because if he starts sleeping he’ll never wake up. He repeats this a few days and then the homies pull him out saying dude WTF you doing. You have huge bags under your eyes, your face is emaciated, and you’re totally unresponsive in class. Graduation is tomorrow too, what’re you gonna do! Then Takeru says “Hey hey trust meh guys”. Of course, power of friendship: “Okay we believe in you Takeru!”. So he finally gets his pay, buys the ticket, wonders how many minutes of sleep he got, and wonders if this was the hardest he’s ever worked in his life. Maybe it’s because it was something so important to him that he could work this hard. Then he finally gets his first full nights rest in ages before graduation.

Tsukuyomi gets the diploma and gives everyone personalized gold coin with their name on it courtesy from Meiya as a memento. Takeru thinks back a bit about Meiya, thinking that while he can’t see her now, sometime in the future he wants to see her again, talk and laugh as old friends. Tsukuyomi leaves and Marimo starts her speech. If everyone looks ahead there’ll be infinite paths to take, each stretching far. However no matter what the path you’ll face a wall along the way. Don’t give up and do whatever you can to get past that wall. Beyond it will be more roads to go down. Of course you’ll be hurt as you traverse the walls, but she guarantees that time will heal those scars. She wants everyone to look at the future, a right that the young have. Then she wants everyone to every now and then stop and look back at the path that only they have taken and that they will be without a doubt proud of it. Walking like this is what life is. Then Yuuko sensei kicks in and says hey you taking too long stfu. Marimo goes... okay... Speech ends soon after and they have graduated.

Sooo Takeru turns around and finds everyone clapping for them! All the homies, Yuuko, Marimo, Tsukuyomi, Akane (why?), and apparently most of their class watched the whole thing unfold. Everyone is all happy. Sumika says that everyone kept telling her to keep believing in Takeru. Then everyone goes yeah we believed in you! Class rep going tsundere saying I did it all for myself to alleviate risk just like Kouzuki-sensei said. Takeru then asks Tsukuyomi if he can keep this ticket as a memoir to this moment, and that if he ever has rough times, think about this ticket and what he worked for up till this day. Of course Tsukuyomi accepts. Then Takeru asks if it’s okay to meet Meiya one day and talk and laugh as old friends. Sumika joins instantly saying please I want to see Meiya again too. Then everyone proceeds to go ME TOOO MEE TOO LOL.

I finally finished Alternative like 2 days ago so I wanted to bask in anything Muvluv related. So I went with the Supplement disc yesterday first as it was the first fandisc. Not at all. The only times it really uses shock value is in CHOMP, Sumika and with Tama at the very end.
CHOMP definitely is there for the shock value, but I wouldn't say it's bad since the whole experience is meant to be shocking for Takeru.
Sumika was defintiely just stupidly exaggerated by Age, and it'd have worked far better if not so silly.
With Tama I think it denotes the sheer notgivingafuck of the BETA leader thing, which while not exactly EVIL is very cruel. Like a child that doesn't see a bug equal.

Other than that it has very little shock value for a drama about war and death and shitting endlessly on the MC. Most of the time it's very tragic, but not that shocking.

Takeru gets all sappy saying oh man everyone worried so much about us. Then mentions how hard it was to get Sumika this time around. How could she have been thinking about their whole lives just from the Teriyaki sauce and Soy sauce incident? She just says it’s because she was too embarrassed to say it more clearly (lul…) . Then Takeru complains that because of everything that happened nobody was able to write in his yearbook. Sumika says she was thinking so much about it she couldn’t do anything else so nobody wrote in hers either. Then Mikoto says ALL GOOD lol I left a blank spot just for you guys. Then one by one the Muv luv harem goes oh YOU TOO? Oh YOU TOO?! With that aside, Takeru remembers about the Santa Bunny too and gives that to her as well. Sumika get’s all happy as usual, then says let’s go and buy something else like it together sometime. She gives him a kiss does the ol’ Takeru-chan DAIIISUKI. Then fades out to various CGs of each character as they say goodbye to their respective groups (Tama with archery club, Class red with her lacrosse homies, etc.).

Takeru then thinks about what it means to become an adult. He reasons that life is at certain turning points, when your about to lose the one thing that you must definitely not lose because of your own actions. It’s at that instant you have the conviction that you’d do whatever you can for it and that sooner or later everyone will face such events and gain such conviction. He feels that he’s still young and that he’s put one foot in the world. Some stuff about the future ahead being scary, but he’ll believe in himself, Sumika, and his homies. Then he realizes that if someone believes in him, that means he has something in him that others can believe in. So that’s why he has confidence that he can believe in his future with Sumika together, no matter what wall that awaits them the two of them will be able to cross it.
