Custom dakimakura I made.
I asked some company to print it on a dakimakura sheet and received it last week.
It's awesome to sleep with a girl drawn by yourself. Anyone able to do so should do it, in my opinion.

Hey guys, it's me, the guy who's always asking for advice on how to design that goddamned text box(you know the one).
So I was working on an effect for a cut-scene in the game, and figured on why not expand on it a little bit and slap some old sprites for the hell of it. I think it turned out a bit nice, but opinions are very much appreciated, as always.

I was drawing the characters from the ground up, so I thought it would count for OC in sort of the same way a remix would, but I understand where you're coming from. I think they turned out pretty good though, it was a fun experience.

Buzzing around from board to board and seeing other drawthreads, I'd say only /ic/ is more rough about criticism than /jp/. The absence of it is bad, but criticism without a hint of info to learn from is equally terrible. That said, I think /jp/ actually strikes a nice balance in that area.

Hey guys, I'm making some semi-srs bznz Touhou doujin here. Basically, the theme will be Gensokyo: Total War, as inspired by a thread here some times ago.

Looking for some help, if possible, to do tonings, backgrounds, inks, research, etc. I know it looks shitty right now, but _you_ can make the difference and make it awesome! Shoot me an email if you wanna work on this and we'll go from there

Planning for this to be a long series. Chapter 0 (prologue)'s draft is done, just need to ink it and add tones and stuff, but it will take forever for me to do alone...

I'm not the person you are talking with but let's go: You need smoother lines (Your designs are all 'too spiky'), better anatomy (with the face and head specially) and other fundamental stuff that you can only achieve by practicing more and learning from other drawings. Study and practice more and you will improve.

Your drawings have the classical 'amateurish' look. I'm no expert but the two points I mentioned above seem to be something that you should focus mainly for now.

I'm not exactly a rose vine expert, but as the name suggests, it's a vine, so you want it look like one. Imagine what a vine would look like (not circular), then proceed from there. Draw thicker main lines, then diverge, then diverge again; you should at least go for two reps like that, make it complex enough, but not too complex it'll tire you out drawing it. Scattera full bloom roses, half blooming, and buds all over the place, make sure they don't look like a pattern (since you have the vines on the ground, I think that'll look better). Make some ares more concentrated, but don't make it too apparent; having one or two locations with two to three roses is good enough, i feel.

I think that's it. Good luck. Look up some references, that always helps.

I don't know why I started, it's just something I've always done. I feebly tried to give it up sometime after graduating from high school, as I wasn't planning on putting in the effort to better my skills, but it kept leaking out on its own. Eventually I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to draw once in a while or I would explode.

I don't know if I would consider myself 'any good' - I have more terrible habits and weaknesses as an 'artist' than I do strengths... but sometimes the things that I produce make someone's day, and that is enough to make me feel justified in sharing. I've slowly crawled to this place of "okay"-ness by putting in effort here and there over the span of my life thus far, but I assume that could be shortened considerably with a more concentrated effort.

I'm wondering if there are any graphic designers interested in getting involved with a visual novel project. We're looking to update our current textbox and user interface, as it was initially created with the intent to cover up the background as much as possible. However - since then we've recruited a talented background artist; we'd like to show off more of their work verses covering it up. It would also be nice to get some custom made buttons and icons for different aspects of the game.

In addition we are upping the game's resolution from 854x480 to 1280x720.

As far as tablets go, you shouldn't be buying from anyone other than Wacom. I'm not sure how much your wallet can afford, but you can get the superb Intuos3 for $150~ used.

The Wacom Bamboo however is a safe bet too, but not as good as the Intuos3.

Yeah, I was mixing things up with Patchouli probably more than I should've, kept trying to use j.2C and silly stuff like that.
Part of the problem is 5C isn't dense at all, and she was fighting Yuyu, who throws out tons of projectiles of her own so I was having trouble punching through.
