One of Touhou's biggest shortcoming to me is its main character.

Every slightly likeable person has its own cult of followers, be they major characters or insignificant ice fairies, even Alice who despite being depicted as ignored and unloved at least gets some attention.

Reimu on the other hand, is bland, uninteresting, and often downright annoying. Outside of UNDEAD ZOMBIE LOL, she never gets any mention. Was anyone even looking forward to playing Reimu in SWR? Chances are that everyone who uses her, all 2 of them, probably do for the way she handles and not the character.

Reimu has no interesting power, is irritable and irritating, is always fucking angry at someone or something, and goes around harassing and moralfagging the shit out of everyone, knowing full well they can't retaliate, despite her being relatively weak as shit. The only reason half the cast hasn't gibbed her at first sight when confronted is because her presence is required in Gensokyo, that's it. And she very much exploits this plotshield to make everyone's life miserable.

And yet this zombie, who nobody wants as his waifu, is the main character. Wonderful.
