after playing Rune Factory 3 for a while, I also picked up RF1.

I get trolled at every corner. Dropping things on the ground destroys them? You can't grab the same thing up to nine times? Giving gifts to people will not make them reveal what they really like?

I'm going to have a field day with this game. Oh well, at least the wenches are just as good as in RF3 as it seems

Rosetta was/is the best Rune Factory girl.
But it doesn't make Rune Factory 1 any less shit.

I bought it, and I found it equally bad, if not as worse as some the worst Harvest Moon iterations so far, and not anywhere near the actually good Harvest Moon games.
It was dissapointing, nonetheless.

Completely skipped RF2 due to having gotten RF1.
But RF3.. seems interesting somehow to some extent. But I am just weary of history repeating itself or something.

RF3 is by far my favorite HM game. Combat is much better, stats are better, romancing is better, and the world feels much more alive compared to RF1. People don't have schedules. They are usually where they're supposed to be when the stores are open and things like that, but otherwise people roam around a lot more. Magic isn't useless either this time.

I bought RF2, but never got around to playing it. Now I probably won't because 3 was such a huge upgrade from what I've heard.

The only bad thing is once the story is over, the world seems to get stagnant. So if you do play it, take your time with that. I definitely recommend it if you liked the idea of the Rune Factory games in general. It's easy to overlevel yourself in your house's basement dungeon because time stops in the multiplayer mode that you can also play in single player. I made the mistake of grinding that for items and the story dungeons became a joke.

I never understood the appeal of playing as a girl in Rune Factory/Harvest Moon series. It makes more sense to be the male and chase after skirts. But as the girl, you're chasing after boy's asses, can't seem to accept that. I mean, why work so hard when you could just lift up the hem of your skirt and the boy would march into your house and fuck you. Later on you can just blackmail him into marrying you because of responsibility.

Not like it makes a difference. You've been pretty much able to tell how much your target girl likes you from her mannerisms and speech. Natsume is pretty good at doing that in their Rune Factory games. Now the newer Harvest Moon games...

the one thing I don't like about the rune factory games is how they removed the greenhouse and replaced it with dungeon fields. going in to kill shit every once in a while is fun, but having to go around every day just to water your flowers is a pain in the ass.

I enjoyed RF for trying out a new system (dungeons, forging misc. things, leveling and such), but it didn't really satisfy my need for planting things, also, the social interaction seems VERY lacking compared to other harvest moon games, particularly FoMT.

Daria's rainbow thing was kind of annoying. It felt like Shara would kill me at any second, and Collette didn't really have a fleshed out personality.

Could be your rom, patch, flashcart or if you got it pre-patch its best that you manually patch it, you never really know how or what they did to patch it. I'm using a (U) version thats undubbed except for the opening video. Although if I remember right there's 2 different undubs for RF2, one using the (J) rom and one using the (U) rom.

Should work the only issues you'll encounter are map names are untranslated and errors with quitting quests. The only issue (U) rom has is that opening video isn't undubbed.
