Since this thread is here already, there is something I am curious about.

Is there a place where I can download Japanese subtitles for anime? Figured it might be a good way to improve, well it is a better way than ENG-subbed anime anyway.

You could try importing japanese movies and see if they have any subtitles for the hearing impaired, but I doubt it seeing how adamant the japanese are about keeping disabilities out of sight and out of mind (no puns intended).
