Do any /jp/ers use a wireless or USB controller to play Touhou with? The reason I ask is that there's something wrong with my keyboard on this computer allowing me to only move in certain directions. Hoping to remedy this, I was planning on getting a controller to play with instead. Any recommendations, /jp/?

I use a normal PS2 computer to play Japanese Doujin games, i only use it to play Touhou when i am too tired to properly sit down on my chair and use my keyboard.

I don't think there is really any need for a recommendation on this, if you only want to play Touhou, then it's hard to go wrong with this, just get any controller you see for sale.

Try to change your Keyboard or clean it.
Or maybe your Keyboard port is damaged, that's all the help can I give to you, anon.

And Yeah, I use sometimes a USB Joystick.

Mostly keyboard for now. I considered using my wiimote, and I ordered a knockoff Sega Saturn controller from China, but it'll take a while to get here.

I like using controllers for touhou when I'm in the mood to feel the game equivalent of my balls being stabbed with a knife.

You could just disable num lock and use the num pad for movement. You'd probably want to remap num down arrow to the num 5 key (like the standard arrow ▗▙ formation).

If you really want a controller, I guess you could get an Xbox 360 one if you intend to play the console's games on Windows 8. I think the PS3 controller has pretty much the same layout, though, save for the D-pad.

I've heard of one of my friends using her fightstick for touhou. I personally just use my keyboard.

I use a controller, because I like using my thumbs instead of my fingers. Analog stick is all bad, though.

The only Touhou game I 1cc'd was on a wireless Logitech Rumblepad 2.

If I were able to do something like that, it's an alternative I'd definitely take. I know the keys can't be remapped without an external program, is there one that's generally used here?

Not that I'm aware. I tried out KeyTweak just now, seems to work fine. When remapping, keep in mind that even with num lock disabled, the keys are labeled as "Numpad #" and not arrow keys. All you need to do is click the key and choose the desired remapping from a dropdown menu.

How do I remap move down to num 5? I can't play in the NUM4862 formation.

Mysteriously the remapped key returned to default when actually playing the Toohoos. Apparently there's a remapping tool specifically for this, although I haven't tried it:

Ah yes, I've seen the second one as well, though haven't tried it either. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like keyboard ghosting, shit sucks.

Try using joy2key or something...

And I don't know why, but I can't give my best in Touhou if I'm not using a keyboard, but I can unlock the secret boss in Fever SOS with a PS2 controller.
