Does /jp/ still play tabletop games? If so, how do you make them /jp/ related (settings, homages to characters, ripping off plots)? Ever since the trolls came to stay in /tg/ our communication has been sparse, hostile and infrequent and I'm tired of the westaboo attitude that's prevalent there.

Saber related: in many of my homebrew settings, I have a character patterned after her.

Maid RPG can be very fun if you play it online. If you play it in person, it can also be very fun if you play with a bunch of guys who understand that it's a gag game. Like most games, Maid RPG isn't inherently creepy or fetish-y. It's just that, like most games, its neutrality allows one to insert such things if one so desires.

Oddly, even with rules for seduction ,and the implication that it's probably a bunch of guys paying it most of the time, the game seems too silly to me to be seen as particularly creepy by default. Some folks see otherwise, but fuck 'em, why let them take away from your fun?

I used to play Warhammer, but when my local game store closed down back in 2008, I gradually lost interest in the tabletop aspects of the game. Doesn't help that the game itself has gone to shit in my absence. Probably won't sell my Nids anytime soon, I've grown too attached to them, but I'm guessing they won't see action for another couple of years.
Same story with Warmachine, except I haven't lost interest in it. On the contrary, I've actually gotten more interested in it since the store closed. Problem is that all the other game stores in my area that host Warmachine events are at least 30 minutes away from my house, and I'm not driving that far in the middle of rush hour traffic.
I used to play some pnp RPGs, but again, ever since that store closed, I stopped playing. Tried to get a couple of people I know interested in Dark Heresy, but I don't think that's going anywhere, given that we haven't met up to play it in 10 months.

I still pop into /tg/ for the Warmachine threads and the occasional interesting thread, but it's just not that great of a board anymore. Too many quests and board games (as in games being played on the /tg/ board) ruined it, and the moderation is way too strict. /tg/ came to some conclusion that the Japanese RPG (Danmaku Yuugi Flowers) was a clusterfuck with confusing/poorly written rules. Similar can be said about organization. Had some interesting concepts (spellcards on a grid) and good art... But as for the setting fluff and other stuff... Meh.

I don't think /tg/ truly hates anime, Touhous, etc. It's just that they don't want to attract weeaboos and Sues of the generic animu kind (gaiafags). Then the sheeptrolls (haters, lazy and uncreative fucks) just see this as an excuse to herp and derp (not even lulz) while acting under pretense of "the rules" (lol there are none) which forces mods to wade through a fuckton of bullshit drama.

Example: A /tg/ summerfaggotry sticky as a guideline to where Wakfu, Touhous, vidya, et cetera go... With some clear (RPs/RPGs) and some vague (vidya) exceptions. Derptrolls latched on and used them as an excuse to attack anything that moved. Disagree? They claim to report for "trolling shitposts" (which was seriously on there as a guideline) which made me lol as it was seemingly never enforced.

>don't think /tg/ truly hates anime, Touhous, etc.

Depends on the anime.

You can generally get away with talking about stuff like berserk, outlaw star, kinos journey, GitS, slayers, and eva.

But stuff like strike witches, anything with magical girls, or anything based off a porn game or with harem in it tends to get massive amounts genuine of hate.

Touhou tends to fall in with the latter.

A lot of people used to rage against quests.

Mods then started defending quests, and banning whiners.

Once again you can blame the mods.

Gonna have to disagree here, I recall several recent threads revolving around Madoka, including a system based on it. Trolling was minimal.

Funny how that worked out isn't it.

Now the front page is full of oh so edgy ironic shitposting and daily doses, and there may be the occasional touhou gameplay, vn or music threads in the dark depths of page 10.

It seems like to me quests were a poor man's IRC RPG, and as such, 90% of them shoulf have been on IRC.

Now something like Ruby Quest (to just pick a good example) would be ok, because it was heavily reliant on the images being posted. Protect the lo-I mean kids quest, not so much.

Just wanted to throw out there that dive into the sky has been disowned by its creator due to trolling.

Actually besides zelda and pokemon the only animeish game that gets any love is that eva dark heresy game.

Actually it hasn't. It's being revived. Author rewrote the rules for more structured roleplaying (pulling some of the better mechanics from other systems).

God, I feel bad for the thread necromancy.

Said creator of the game here. I disowned the original Dive into the Sky not because of trolling but because I decided the rules broke down far too easily. So, i remade the rules, after years of saying I'd do it and a month or two of being bored at work.

The post i linked is correct, pretty much. i need playtesters and folks to help me fix yp the rules so they're nice, and no time to run anything to see what needs fixing and what fixes work, myself. I've kind of left the game alone for a while. Being busy at work hasn't helped.

Beyond that, I've got plans for a more general mecha musume game modeled after Busou Shinki and Cosmic Break, but I want to get DitS working nicely before I start working on it, notably so I can build off of what I know works, has been tested, and been fixed.

Let me just say how proud I am of all our neckbeards. /tg/ is one of the few boards left on 4chan that remembers what it's like. It's nice to see how much in common we all have.

Start up a thread when you're going to begin this stuff. I'll try and read up on whatever system you're using.

Lesbo Jet Fighters is pretty cool. Glad to hear you're still working on it (and other stuff).

I'd love to playtest this myself if I actually still played traditional games rather than reading rulebooks and thinking about it.
