/tg/ have, truth be told been of my deep down secrets. Which could possibly be hard to imagine given how I don't exactly socialize, even on the internet, excluding anonymous message boards.
I just love to read up on all the interesting settings, create characters and scenarios and all that world building stuff, not to be speaking off the roguelikes and I don't know what. Most of all /tg/ stuff to be honest, even TCGs.

But while there are tons of people who can't stand eastern stuff over at that place, or at least not the "anime" centric stuff, there are a signifigant portion with a suprisingly tolerant side to things, that is, if they weren't to simply like the stuff themselves.

It somewhat comes with the hobby that draws inspiration from seemingly whatever. In the end, the more tolerant guys becomes far more flexible within their given hobby. Of course, not everyone ventures this path, and /tg/ might have a bit of a reverse-weeaboo feel to it, naturally given its cause, but due to all of this, there are a notable amount of folks with an open mind to stuff, or at least people who wouldn't care.

Vocal minorites. When opening posts are made about it they flock to it like wolfs.
If they are subtetly mentioned in other threads though they can get lots of positive response, or actual critique regarding quality followed up by discussion.

But yes, it is indeed sad whenever they shit themselves over like that. Luckily, that isn't a problem most of the time. But you also need to consider how figurines like that are off topic most of the time, unless a given context were to make an exception. This too, naturally changes people's reception about the things.

It does make me sad with the new breed of people who aren't really, "basement dwelling neckbeards" or close enough of an archtype anyway.
/tg/ have been on decline ever since Touhou and Touhoufag got banned and that one mod went nuts. Haven't seen the likes of it until Wakfu got the same treatment.

Granted, /tg/ does have a bit of the same problem /jp/ does.
While it might be easier to define "Traditional Games" than "X Culture" somehow, "Traditional Games" still says close to nothing given the subjectivity on what is traditional, or even what constitutes a game, or a "traditional game" for that matter, not to be speaking of defining the boundaries of how far something can be while still being closely enough related to a "traditional game" to be related.

For /jp/, you really need to have been around since around the split to have seen stuff first hand, or at least been around long enough to pick up on the stuff anyway.
On /tg/ alike, one somehow have to have been around for a quite the while to get a grip on what really constitutes the board.

With this, both boards suffer from the seemingly "elitist" and "closed" "board culture" mentality. With this in mind /jp/ and /tg/ are actually two among the most similair boards around. But due to this, they also suffer lots of the same problems, especially with people who makes up their own opinions and refuses to learn. Heck, there are people there now who don't even know how there used to be touhou inspired campaigns all over the place. (still are but it isn't the same.)

On the contrary, I browse /tg/ solely for their weapon threads. Well, and armor and dwarf fortress threads. All the same, the only ones who get "ridiculed and trolled" are the posters who say anything about katanas, assumingly because such discussion will inevitably bring the katana copypasta, which will inevitably bring the bastard sword copypasta, which will also being about all the gifs, pictures, and other sundries that will be a blight on the thread.

>> No.7541880

Yeah, most people I've found like the idea, but aren't confident enough in their lore to run it. I think that a game like BMW would require some glossing over of the specifics anyway just so people could play things they liked without a giant disparity in power or having to write an essay as to why a Dead Apostle and a Counter Guardian team up, just as an example off the top of my head.

>/tg/ have been on decline ever since Touhou and Touhoufag got banned and that one mod went nuts.
Still pisses me off just remembering the day.
The guy posts a thread that's perfectly on topic, sharing scans of a /tg/ magazine, and the mod deletes all the (Touhou) images he posted with the link spew. Then, as any idiot could predict, the entire thread revolves around, "Why did the images get deleted?" "What were the images of?"

Then, after 50 posts or so, the mod comes back to the thread and deletes all the 'off-topic' posts in the thread, all while people were still posting. There must have been 150 posts that were deleted before someone, the mod or Touhoufag, deleted the thread.

Every single time I remember the day, I feel the need to vent. Fucking hell.

Right, because YOU know better than the moderators who come to this site for their fucking jobs. Ever thought the problem might be with your own perception? I'm sure shitposters think the mods suck and hate fun, they don't realize they're the cause.

Shitposters be damned, but moot's best buddies who go fuck sluts and get drunk on Friday night instead of refreshing various 4chan boards every waking hour of their life are not doing their job.

Touhoufag was not a shitposter, I believe most /tg/ denizens realize this, even those who didn't care much for what he did.
But most of all his posts were always related to some on topic related content. And most of them were also very creative, and he was a vivid participant in lots of fantasy related threads, and lots of high fantasy threads of that. Including, but certainly not limited to D&D. I also remember him in few freeform threads, and lots of other game systems.
Not to be speaking of how he also took part in other topics as well. All in all, it would be very hard to classify him as a shit poster. Bet the mod just couldn't stand the "anime" look of the pictures, somehow. It is still a mystery to most people even to this day.

The Wakfu thing was more understandable though. Even though people kept things decently/fine during the first season of the show, people were afraid the second one would have things skyrocketing somewhat, and MLP had already scared (the mods at least) shitless. Its a shame really.

But mods have done some rather stupid shit at /tg/ on more than one occasion.
But then again, they somehow try to keep the core of the board to some extent, somehow. Like how they actually had a sticky that tried to clarify what kind of computer games could be considered related. So I can give them that they aren't exactly shitting all over the board, which I believe one could be thankful for.
But it is always the good and the bad, but I don't see a need to jump in and protect the mods. They do their work, and for the love of all that is a good board/community, one can only hope it is good, but somretimes, it doesn't make sense, and when that happens I don't see much of a point of denying it.
