Do you play Touhou in windowed mode or full screen ?

>> No.7540717

Full screen, 4:3 monitor as intended.

>> No.7540721

I don't see a thing if it's not in full screen.

Fullscreen when permitted, newer games won't let me play in fullscreen so I just choose the highest res window that will fit on my monitor.

>> No.7540735

Isn't it easier though to play in windowed mode ? If I play in fullscreen my eyes are only on the bullets coming to me and not on what I should be shooting.

>> No.7540746

Windowed. In full screen everything is too big and it's harder for me to see everything I need to see.

Having the character in my peripheral vision is enough for me.

Full screen. Always full screen. Full screen with maxed audio. There is no other way to play Touhou

Euh, my speakers can go pretty darn loud though...

>> No.7540837

Fullscreen, I find it much easier to dodge shit.

Not a problem if they are good, really.

I use headphones. Wish I lived alone and had a really fuckawesome pair of speakers, but I have a decently awesome set of headphones, so it's pretty good too

I maintain there is no other way to play Touhou, though. ZUN's music, so good

>> No.7540898

Windowed. Usually listening to something else.

>> No.7540895

How do you guys that play full screen stand it? I can't handle full screen since I'm so used to playing games on smaller screens. Some people say it's better but I can't really take it.

>> No.7540903

>>7540895

It's just a matter of immersion for me. Maybe it sounds silly to you, but full screen really helps to draw you into the passion, the heat, the flow of danmaku. Same reason why I crank the music

>> No.7540918

>>7540903

I haven't really needed full screen for that sort of thing, but maybe that's because I play handhelds way too often. Having that large screen kind of irritates my eyes admittedly for some games.

>> No.7540960

>>7540895
Why are you used to playing games on small screens in the first place? I play all my PC games fullscreen, with only very very few exceptions.

>> No.7540978

11-13 windowed, since you can do it at higher sizes than fucking 600x800, 6-10 fullscreeen

>> No.7540985

Window modo + sizer

Fits perfectly.

>> No.7540988

>>7540960

I don't play a lot of PC games full screen typically. In addition, I've mostly been playing handheld games for the past few years for maybe 6-8 hours a day.

>>7540960
>but maybe that's because I play handhelds way too often

It's okay Youmu, sometimes I'm slow on refreshing the thread too

Still though, handhelds are no different for me, since the "screen" you're looking at completely encompasses the game. It's not like playing a windowed PC game where you have two to five chat windows running at any given time, 4chan, and whatever else you do with your internet time

IT'S JUST YOU
THAT TINY LITTLE SCREEN
AND YOUR GAME
AW YEA

Maybe he just likes tiny low res screens due to his handheld days. I don't know

>> No.7541051

>>7541024

Well to tell the truth with handhelds I usually am looking at other things as well. I tended to play those games sometimes because I could multi-task with them actually. Also, another thing I guess I don't like is how kind of blurry everything seems. And Reimu moves faster than she should even though technically she's not moving any faster. And all sorts of other things.

>> No.7541052

>>7541024
Yeah, I kinda derped there.

Still, generally you have the handheld closer to your face than your computer screen. I'd say overall my PC screen is only about half again as large in my field of view as my PSP screen, so it's not really all that small.
But eh, whatever floats one's boat is the way to go I suppose. Just as long as he's at least tried to play Touhou in fullscreen, and seen if it makes things easier to dodge for him or not.

>> No.7541093

>>7540898

So you play without the BGMs playing?

That would almost ruin the game for me, considering that they are all timed with the stage and are such a big part of what Touhou is.

>> No.7541104

>>7541093
I somehow manage without it. Not that I don't like the music; I really do. I just like some other music more.

>> No.7541124

>>7540978
by using sizer you can stretch the screen to any resolution you want.

well, good bye /jp/.

The only game I could bring myself to do that with is HRtP

And even then, I just listened to remixes of Magic Mirror, Die to Pay Your Debt, and Eternal Shrine Maiden

>> No.7543349

windowed when I have a tab open with a translation. otherwise fullscreen.

>> No.7543363

If you don't play it with a turned off monitor you don't know shit about Touhou.
