Thanks to the character editor tool I was able to update my touhou school so that english names would fit, and no longer be forced into japanese.

I also edited some of the characters to fix some annoying flaws, like Suwako's low detail model having disturbingly large breasts.

Also included a few new characters and the cat ear mod from uppervolta, which you should install if you want to use Chen, Ran or Rin. You can't change the color of the ears so I'm not satisfied with Ran, but I thought I'd include her anyways.

Since there are now more than 25 characters, you'll have to choose who you want. I'm trying to avoid characters that have iconic features, so unfortunately I still don't have my favorite onis in it.

I can't help you with the Illusion wizard, but the mods I use modify the *.pp files

I used "AAMake2Decrypt" to unpack the *.pp files (drag the appropriate file) onto AAMake2Decrypt, which creates a folder with the same filename. Put the mod's files into this folder, overwriting when appropriate. Then drag the folder onto AAMake2Decrypt, which converts it back to a .pp file (and backs up the existing pp file if it would overwrite).

Does the personality of two different people have an effect on what they'd find acceptable to do?
In two games, I had the same girl as the 'main interest', a Faithful with maxed virtue who is serious and calm. In the first one I played it normal as an Affable and until she confessed, I didn't perform any H actions on her and only talked about love from time to time. Until then, we'd hang out a lot and just do things good girls should be doing at all times. She did jump on a Humble girl that I was asking to befriend her before the confession however, and made me choose between them.
In the second game nothing much had changed, except I made her homo instead and I made my character essentially a clone of her as well (a homo Faithful with max Virtue). Things were going as normal, until on the second day, after asking me to go practice with her, she suddenly hugged me without warning. We were still green at the time, and we haven't gone around talking to each other about love and such yet, either.
Was this just luck, or something similar because of my new personality? While she hasn't changed much in those two games, I had changed the classmates around to such that instead of everyone being bisexual, it was mixed all around except for her and my character. She doesn't jump at other people as often this time round either, in the first game she'd zoom around the map at the speed of light seeing if I was talking to anyone at all.

The "Faithful" trait is not a terribly accuracy translation, the wiki says it's more like "lawful" than anything. It's your "class rep" type that wants to make sure they're all following the rules, and thus explains their resistance to ecchi activity.

As for your circumstances, did you change the character's preferences any? They might be more occupied with talking with others and such if there are more targets available. Homo girls will still talk to guys, too, their tastes affect all relationships, even ones that can't become romantic. Otherwise it could just be luck.

I didn't, in both games I essentially made her only preference to be the same personality as mine, although for my character it was all personalities for both games. The only differences in that regard though is that in the first game, I delibrately made it so that no one else preferred our two personalities and we were the only ones with our personalities about, while in the second game after I random'd everyone else's preferences there were some characters that liked the Faithful personality.
And yeah, I'm aware that the Faithful personality is more like that of a class rep/disciplinary committee member personality, and I like having her around if only because there's two incredibly lewd characters running around in the two games and it's funny watching them get interrupted by her whenever they tried to talk to me. Download the patch from this post >>7514694.

Copy the data folder and AAXPlay.exe to the AA folder (not the creator) and overwrite anything it asks for. Run the game from the AAXPlay.exe and press F3 during the game while you're at school. You should get a menu with 2 options, first turns on the auto mode (any interactions from other characters are always answered with a yes) and the second option turns off NPC interaction, meaning that your character will never be talked to by other NPCs. You should see the keys to toggle these options next to them and to exit the menu you just hit F3 again.

I've tried a couple of other instances with auto on, and it seems the best results involve you playing manually for a decent bit and get the ball rolling. After that flip on auto and watch how things play out. The couple of attempts without manual interaction only had my MC noticed by one or two girls, but another where I had played for a bit ended him with four girls he was in a relationship with others wanting him.

Has anyone tried playing it like as if it's a real highschool simulator? Like say, a class full of randoms or handpicked, but when it comes down to yourself, you play it like as if it's how the NPC would do things. For example, a super shy character (with say, Humble and Withdrawn) that likes to hang out in isolated areas from time to time and doesn't really talk to people by themselves, unless it's a club member or someone that's approached her enough times.
