I found the manga good, you'll like it if you like Toriyama Sekien as much as the author does. There are Gazu Hyakki Yako cameos everywhere and while shonen isn't really my taste the research done is pretty solid, almost comparable to Kitaro.

I'm watching it right now, and it's pretty awful

I'm only 5 episodes in as well, how the fuck this got a second season, I don't know.

I'll finish this season then move onto the manga.
