Whatever happened to faceless male-protagonists?

When did they die out?
I can't even remember the last time I played with one.

Though I'd pay for serious VNs to have faced and voiced protagonists, they have defined non-projectable personalities.

I'm fine with partially voiced though.

In Sharin, the protagonist must have a face.
It's not a dating game where you are supposed to be the protag.

If I want a good story then I´d like a real character

If its just a sex romp then gimme a faceless character.

Sometimes Kenichi have a face, sometimes he doesn't.
Same for Kyousuke in G-Senjou.

Best is when you can turn the voice on and off.
I prefer voiced during the story parts, but in H scenes voiced protagonists throw me off as well.

Saya no Uta would have sucked with a faceless and voiceless protag.
