Only keeping fig in there because people yell at me about their filters etc.
ah, the old one auto saged. Also, eagerly waiting for Suika Mameshiki by AmiAmi.
>>7418955>Madoka FigmaThis, combined with the fact that my Saber Vortigern arrived in the post office overnight has just made my day. Now where's my scale Homura, Japan?
Just got these 3 (4) in today.
>>7419021Jealous of that Danbo. I pulled it up on amiami at 5am before I went to work last week, figuring I'd be able to pick it up when I came back. No more than two hours later it was completely sold out.Fuck my life.
I have 2 SAL and 2 EMS packagesBoth EMS Should be here todaySAL no ideaI'll post pictures when I get them though
Didn't anyone else notice the weird white blank spot on Azusa's front?
>>7419032It's just part of her outfit - goes with the white sleeves. You can see it from a couple other angles and it makes more sense.
>>7419028I'm sure there will be more re-releases of it.Going to sell those Evangelion Okama fruit girls, though.
>>7419046Do remember to remove the batteries if you don't plan to play with it often. Those batteries leak alkaline very easily.
>>7419059I don't know if these button batteries will just start leaking anything. Maybe after long enough, though.
>>7419065Standard button batteries leak. If you get the good germany ones that is use in expensive watches, they don't alkaline. Even if they leak, its some kind of powder that doesn't ruin your stuff.
There's going to be a PVC version of this one, right? By far, she's the best Alice sculpt I can see so far.
>regular Madoka>not Homura, Mami, Kyouko or godmode MadokaFigma, why? Its only redeeming is the Kyubey accesory
>>7419112Oh god, that's amazing. If that's for sale, it will probably decimate my bank account, though. I'll have to take up gambling.
>>7419140I'm sure they'll make the others in time, they'd have to be retarded not to capitalize on the series popularity.
>>7419157>I'll have to take up gambling.
>>7419046>there will be more re-releases of it.I really do hope this happens. I don't really buy a lot of figures but I've always wanted a Danbo one to go with my regular Yotsuba (I don't know where to find her summer version, unfortunately). I didn't even know that there was an "old" version of this Revoltech before searching up on Amiami today after reading this thread!
>>7419041How do you explain this?
>>7419112What the fuck is up with her leg? Is she supposed to be falling over?
>>7419291Looks somewhat like she's dodging towards her right but what do I know. Dynamic poses are always welcome and it's usually better than static poses. Also, the sculptor is known to make legs like that. Pic related.
>>7419312The leg is bent IN, and the other leg is in no position to catch her weight if she's dodging to the left. (Our left, her right). The only way I can see that pose making sense is if she's in the air, but the base doesn't look that way.
>>7419341She's kicking off into an aerial twirl or something, don't be so OCD all the time anon.
>>7419112My god. This look so fucking good compare to griffon Alice. This is even better than Alter Hayate.Where can I get this?
>>7419112>Sold at Treasure Festa 5 and Reitaisai 8.There is still hope since Ques Q did PVC version for patchy and sanae.
FUCKING FINALLY A PROPER PVC LUKA JESUS GODDAMN
Since figures are bound to sold out very easily, mine as well buy it from ebay.
>>7419729You need to work on your English. Also ebay is bad place to look for figures that's why you pre-ordered the stuff you want.
>>7419736Now your just being picky. Nothing wrong with TONY figures. I got his Miku and its awesome.
>>7419746It's not the figures themselves, I just dislike his style- It looks so impersonal. Even for generic anime-styled art, it's so GENERIC. Why couldn't they just do a figure not based on his art, and just do one in the same series as the Miku and Rin/Len 1/8? PVCs? Bitch whine etc
I finally bought this figure for $89. So proud getting her.
>Also, eagerly waiting for Suika Mameshiki by AmiAmi.When is this going available?
>>7419765I think they're pretty gorgeously drawn, myself. Different tastes for the different taste gods.
>feels good man
WHERE'S MY MAMI FIGMA?! OR MY HOMURA?HUH?!
>>7419691ABOUT FUCKING TIME!>>7419736On the bright side it cant possibly be worse than the Tony Miku.
>>7420300Opinions. I loved the TT Miku.
Canada post is going on strike.... fuck. Hopefully it doesn't last long. I honestly don't think they need any more money or more benefits. They get paid about an average of $50k just to deliver mail to mail boxes, not even to your door or necessarily even that near to your house for that matter.
>>7420450And not even on weekends like their US counterparts ~
I want this figure so fucking badly.
>>7419065WHEREWHEN HOW MUCH BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE THAT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ASS
>>7419868Hey, hey.Where did you get it?I have a cousin who wants that figure really badly but can only find it for $200+
>>7419065Is that the Revoltech, pon?
>>7420521Thank you Very much buying it right now!
>>7420533Just answered, but yup!I spent like 20 minutes trying to make him stand upright and jam the nerv missile into the open AT field, but it was an impossible balancing act so crouching he shall stay.
What is a good place to get pillow cases?
>>7420564Mugi and Dizzy yahoo.
>>7420521Derp. Sorry. I didn't see this post.Looks like Revoltech has upped their game a little bit. I always kinda liked their sculpts but the PVC plastic always irritated me on bots and mechs.I have this one, but I've never opened it. Maybe I should.
>>7420564Nice stuff. I see you picked up a Kamen Rider figma. Have you taken any of those out yet? I collect the ones by S.H. Figuarts.
>>7420632not yet I literally have no where to put them at the minute so when someone gets home I'm putting together the deltolf I have sitting in my garageI'll let you know though
>>7420645Yeah, man! Post pics!!!
i've spent a good 3k on figures in the past two years, but i'm starting to lose interest with this hobby. i don't even open new packages i receive and they go straight into the cabinet, because i feel like i need them but i can't enjoy them.how can i get re-addicted and start enjoying this hobby once again?
>>7420832Get some new display space and take a few out of the package.Stare at 'em.That usually does it for me.
>>7420832Also, I find that taking pictures of them really helps me get a fresh perspective on them as works of art. That and discussion keeps my interest peaked. Join MFC if you haven't, add the rest of us, be a nerd, read the blogs.Maybe there just hasn't been anything that really resonates with you lately. It's been a little slow recently. I don't know if you watch anime but there's so many bishoujo this season that I am sure a ton of nice figures are already underway.
>>7420844Unfortunately this is pretty much all you can do with this hobby.Photographing them might be entertaining for you, but then taking good photos is an entirely different hobby on its own.Ultimately appreciation for art is the foundation of this hobby, and it can only be so entertaining. I'm in the same boat at the moment. Seeing all the new HobbyJapan scans the past few months and new releases, I find myself really bored. I don't think the recent releases are particularly shitty so I'm wondering if my passion for this hobby has also decreased. Ponpo, how have you been so active & indulged in the figure industry all these years? The fact that you hardly buy any figures for yourself yet have been so enthusiastic about them is kind of impressive.Wonfes is soon isn't it? Maybe something will spark your interest again in the hobby during the event!
>>7420555>jam the nerv missile into the open AT fieldHow lewd.
god fucking damn it, that man needs to be punched in the face. I would be so pissed if he did this to a 80USD figure like that. Especially one of Mio.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tkFvRJBOGIPoor otaku. ;_; I sympathize. Dumbass host doesn't realize the emotional or physical value of it.
>>7420896Holy shit, I'd have punched him square in the face if he did that to mine. If I'd have even been near by I'd have done it regardless of whether it was mine or not.I didn't quite get the purpose of that show, but I can't help but feel those guys should have stayed at home.
>>7420832I only buy figures of characters that I personally like. I'm sure if I bought a lot of them I'd lose interest in them as well but since I only buy the highest quality figures available of characters that I like I can still enjoy it just as much as when I first started collecting.Quality > Quantity my friend.
>>7421025ive only purchased about 6 figures with the 3 grand. please don't assume that a high amount of money means high quantity and low quality.
>>7420564I can't help but notice>copy of War and Peace>Evas in fighting pose straight above
>>7420563Look up the archives and you shall find what you seek. Hell I thought we had a daki thread yesterday
>>7421045My apologies, I have a family friend who has gotten to a point where he just orders stuff (/co/ related figures/toys) and leaves it in the box on the floor because he's stopped caring about it even though he continues to put money into his hobby. So I generally associate people who get bored with it to be in a similar situation. Also, what do you have that has been averaging over 500 dollars a piece? That's quite a steep price for so few figures.
>>7420896Do Japanese otaku take fashion advice from Forrest Gump or something?
>>7421143bigger purchases of mine:uesugi kenshin volks, pre-paintedyamamoto isuroku, pre-paintedKOS-MOS volks, prepaintedBelldandy & Holybell original, prepaintedsaber original dollfie(i suppose this doesn't count as a figure)a lot of these figures originally came out as GKs, prepainted versions cost a ton.as you can see im a volks fan with not enough talent to paint my own figs.
>>7421045>6 figures with 3 grandwhat the fuck?
>>7421215see the above post please.i guess prepainted GK ≠ figure to some people
>>7420896This whole thing had to have been faked by the station. Just another "laugh at the otaku" part on a variety show. After that clip, they show their awesome break dance moves and say they want to be back dancers for seiyuu. They also show off their toned abs.http://blog.livedoor.jp/insidears/archives/52464003.html
>>7421249>It was just faked by the stationOh okay, now I feel better about the situation.>Just another "laugh at the otaku" part on a variety show. Now i'm sad again.
Reagan, so moe~
>>7421234Fair enough.>Belldandy & Holybell original, prepaintedGood taste.
>>7420896Imagine that Mio was a victim of hotglue. Now the host is smooching it and sucking on it.

>>7422040It says temporary so it should come up again.I'm debating if I should order another to make a little cash on the side. Seeing as she's still selling like crazy.

>>7422933I missed the previous thread. What exactly was the problem?
>>7422933I find that response hilarious. Especially the phenomenon part.
>>7422952Yukari hands gettin broke all day every day I assume.
>>7422951>AmiAmi iirc?Classified information.>>7422952>I missed the previous thread. What exactly was the problem?Wrong poorly done sculpture by Griffon passed their quality control.
>>7422933>>The shape of her right hand is by far the most incredible phenomenon we have ever seen. Now I want to see pictures.
>but if we sent a defective figure to you next time, we prove ourselves to be a store not worth supplying to you and will have to close business relationships with you.I honestly don't know how I feel about this. It's not like it's their fault, and it sounds like they want to punish themselves, but if they stop doing business with you then that's just annoying for you, isn't it? It's not like there's a ton of sites to choose from.
>>7422994I take that as a yes.
>>7423013>I honestly don't know how I feel about this. It's not like it's their fault, and it sounds like they want to punish themselves, but if they stop doing business with you then that's just annoying for you, isn't it? It's not like there's a ton of sites to choose from.Yea, it's kinda weird, but I guess that's Japanese business mentality. Anyway 1999, Amiami and HLJ are the same, with the same prices.
>>7422933You should be happy. You got a full refund.I got stuck with a figure that I didnt want and only got a measly 2000yen discount on my next order from mandarake.
I was thinking about selling some of collection. How should I best go about this? Ebay? Some forums? I will probably not go trough with it even though I could really need some money.
>>7423036Do you have some of the older Alter or GSC stuff?I will gladly take them from you if you didnt hotglued them.
>>7423032>I got stuck with a figure that I didnt want and only got a measly 2000yen discount on my next order from mandarake.I heard that Mandarake is pretty bad at these things.
>>7422622>AmiAmi down for 1 hour>sold out sold outand Its permanently sold out till release date. Well, maybe they will re-open the order 1 month before the actual release, who knows. Not like I care about the classic design Miku much *no shimapan*. I got the Lat. Version on PO. She have megane and shimapan.Pic related, Lat. Version Miku.
>>7423107I wonder if the Lat Miku will be interchangeable with her for shimapan
This doesn't look bad at all. DOSE LEGS
>>7422040>>7423107Id buy one but they keep getting her boots wrong. I dont know who they can keep fucking up her boots.
>>7423286>>7423291Ookami is cute. But I am more of a Ringo fan. Where is my cute Ringo in cute summer dress figure?
>>7423286>>7423291But I just the Alter Ookami fig. Not another one! Also, Griffon. Which seems to be a bad thing judging from the past few threads.
>>7423286>>7423291>ookami-shit>guriffonshitThis picture has never been more appropriate.
>>7423305I guess your shit taste made you nauseous? That sucks man.
>>7423319Hey calm down we are all entitled to our opinions here.
>>7423286>>7423291I think it looks better than Alter's but Alter's looks more accurate when compared to the anime. I might pre-order that if my August pre-orders wasn't fucking full. Koishi, Kogasa and this. I fucking love Madoka.
>PVC Ass DiscussionAm I late?
Dem child-bearing hips are RABURI
teh other ReiOne of my oldest figs. Skirt used to be cast-off, but it became stuck over the years
I fucking love spats
Who has the better ass, Snake or Hideyoshi?
and a overview
What a wonderful collection of ASS
My Hanako goes really well with my bondage sonico, despite Sonico being 1/7 and Hanako being 1/8. Hanako's just a big girl I guess.
>>7423528Is that pani poni dash rei? i never knew there were figures of PPD. /r/ing a pic from the frontin return Dizzy's tailMy Dizzy arrived today. The fig exceeded all my expectations.
>>7423541Snake's ass is TACTICALASS
>>7423656Yes, its is. Got her 3 or 4 years ago.
Gonna order this Slutkura. At first I was concerned about this figure, but after all these photos I realized that I was wrong and she's very nice.
>>7422933>>We would like to continue business with you to see what happens, but if we sent a defective figure to you next time, we prove ourselves to be a store not worth supplying to you and will have to close business relationships with you.Wait, if THEY send you a defective figure that you're forced to return twice you're then disallowed from any future orders? What kind of bullshit policy is that?
>>7424143I guess that's because they fucked up their reputation in your eyes, so the best choice for them is to make harakiri in your business partnership. From your side it should be like "I agree with that, your shop is bad and I'm not going to deal with you anymore". Even if you don't think this way, I guess they expect this from you.
>>7424174Alternatively, they suspect you of somehow damaging the products, and are using a convenient excuse to deny you service. Although, I'm probably just reading too much into that.
>>7424213Speaking about Yukari - you can't damage it even harder than it was.
>>7424109I got mine a month ago to be with my other Sakura figs. Absolutely stunning quality on it..I like that she has 2 different heads that you can use. You get the evil angry one that's shown and the tortured rape victim one that I use. Pardon the shitty photo, my Droid takes terrible pictures.
>>7424276Use sunlight next time.I have no Sakura figs, I don't order more than 1 figure per character, so this Gift-Sakura should be the good choice.
>>7424276>>7424109Damn. Am I looking at second figurine Iam gonna buy? It looks awesome. But how can I justify it to my consciousnes???
>>7423713very nice. now if only shaft would make a second season of pani poni dash. but their prolly too busy lighting havana cigars with 100 dollar bills after they hit jackpot with madoka.
>>7424213It's definitely that. They've decided that with the shipping and the returns such a picky customer is not worth it.
>>7420703>>7420632Sorry It took so long but I just got around to getting everything outThis is the only picture I have of it so farat first I was having a bit of a hard time trying to pose it but that's mostly due to my lack of expedience with figmaswhile messing around with it I got used to it and it became really easy
>>7424433Not trolling, that's pretty standard policy when ordering from abroad. I live in fucking norway and lots of places get all mad when you want to return something broken.
>>74244871. It's Japanese mentality2. We talked a lot about this figure earlier, it was clearly defective and everyone agreed with that 3. Hlj, Amiami and Hobby search are okay with refunds4. Logitech, Dell and many others will change the product if it's screwed. It's their reputation, broski. Of course if you will constantly rape their brains with some broken stuff and asking about replacements or refunds - anyone will stop to deal with you. But that's unrelated to this discussion and you are victimizing your statements.
Review's on MikatanPRE ORDERRRR
Speaking of amiami and returns, someone on /toy/ ham-handled their Kos-Mos, which was their first order. Amiami sent a "we will refund you, but we will not do further business with you because we won't be able to meet your high standards." They just don't want to deal with constant returns.
>>7423295Could you elaborate on the issue you have with the boots? After looking at the shots of the griffon vs my alter, the most obvious difference is the griffon has more detail in the bow a the top (vs a flattened ribbon shape on the Alter).
>>7425168that looks grea.... >Griffonoh well
Are there any new Touhou PVCs/mini figures? Pink Company seem to have stopped producing anything and there are no new Nendoroid Petits. I have a collection of them that are roughly a similar size and want to continue it.Also I saw some Madoka ones(Nendoroid Petit-ish), anyone got pics of those?
>>7421045This fig is absolutely beautiful and if I had the money I would buy it in a heartbeat.Does anyone know the name of that one japanese manga about a high school couple who go to the boyfriend's house and play videogames afterschool, but never kiss? I ask because the fig they released last summer of the girlfriend was absolutely gorgeous.
Can always use more butts.
>>7425443Yes!I absolutely love this figurine, I would pay so much money for it. The legs are just great. Does anyone have this?
>>7425691I do. Still boxed. Not selling it
>>7425443they ever finish translating 2-3? I was going to do it then I saw that some guys had started it. Haven't really paid attention since.
>>7425476Indeed. The dark spot on the backside of her thigh wouldn't come off from rubbing but you can rest assured; it came off when I licked it.
>>7425726I can barely muster up envy for you, only awe at your good purchase.
Just checked the site, holy shit this looks like it's going to be a good release. Seriously considering a preorder.
New arrival! Now Nanoha doesn't have to stare down the 1/7 scale phantom minds Fate.
And other recent purchases that aren't figures but meduka related.
>>7426175Go away, upset nendo fate! Also more madoka shit http://akibahobby.net/2011/06/figma_madoka_color_sample.html
>>7426136What's with all the swimsuit madokas? Give me my homu badassery or madokami already. A 1/7 scale from alter for the latter would do nicely.
>>7426183She had a bad day awhile ago.
>>7426219It was 4 minutes from the last post and this thread was still on the front page. Did you really need to bump it?
>>7426231He meant the order was up on Amiami, not a bump 'up.'
>>7426231Yup, hood explained it.
>>7426219Oh how my wallet will hate me at the end of September.> Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke from Alter>Madoka BD LE vol 6>Nanoha Stand By Ready from Alter>LN Holo re-relase>Madoka figma360 USD so far not including shipping and the sliding exchange rate.

>>7426293That fucking Satellizer. Going to break me. I'm very carefully avoiding spending anything else for September because I know how quickly it's going to rack up with her in the mix.
>>7426363When it comes to Satellizer, spending isn't the only thing that will rack up.
Guise guise, how do you take care of your figs?I had my first purchase and I want to take care of her properly. Any tips for a first timer? I might not buy a new one any time soon since something terrible happened.
>>7426832Get a display case, or dust them regularly. I used canned air, myself.
I received the new Saber Alter a few days ago. She's pretty awesome.
>>7426886Yeah, she's pretty nice. I was thinking of pre-ordering her but I already have the Summer Saber pre-ordered so I felt like I didn't need anymore figures of her.
>>7426832I use a lens pen to keep mine dust free. I find that canned air from the stores around here gives them a bitter flavor. I think there might be a few brands without the bittering agents though.
>>7426861I would like a display case but sadly I don't have a dedicated space for my fig right now, its just beside my computer on a small space where I pray that I wouldn't knock her down by accident. Thanks for the tips. I'll try to look for a lens pen and that canned air that you guise are talking about, consult with my remaining funds and...I guess I'll just dust her for now using the normal cotton buds or something. Is it safe to use a wet one? Also, do I have to keep it out from direct sunlight or something? During the morning, the sun hits her directly (as well as my monitor and it gives that damn stupid glare)
>>7426958I think direct sunlight should be fine. I've heard of some figures melting slightly but I've yet to encounter that and my room stays around 30 degrees.
Holy crap, I knew I should had nabbed the Alter Hayate when I had the chance... Checked on EBay and those things are going for nearly $300 not counting shipping.
>>7427032Indeed, prices can get to be ridiculous on the aftermarket. The only currently-released figure I really want is the GSC Kino and I can never find her brand new for under several hundred dollars, if at all.
>>7427065Wow, that looks nice.
>>7426886I don't like her sword, it looks like a peacock tail. And her mask is also silly.
>>7423548what is this? the hair looks like riela from vc3 but the outfit makes me think it's someone else
>>7426136I'd kill for just a normal Sayaka, her character design is awesome. Why the fucking swimsuit?
>>7427213get out sayakafag
Anyone get her yet? She looks amazing in the promo pics but I've never even heard of the manufacturer before (PLUM?) and haven't seen any shots of the real thing yet.
>>7426180Morning rescue is the best figurine.
Took a picture this morning, still loving that ass.
>>7427302is her head detachable?
>>7427657Just wait for the figma ;D
>>7425476Improved shot.I think.
Try changing up the lighting, it's too dark at the moment to properly give it justice.
Probably the best I can manage with the resources available to me.
I wish I could justify buying figs but my current social/living situation forbids it.
>>7427963Her hair looks a bit too brown.
http://myfigurecollection.net/item/26700/comments/&p=1Reading comments on mfc, so much hate. Why so? Did something change in this figure? It seems good enough for me, I can't wait to get her and this is GSC, not Griffon with their superb quality control. So what's the deal? Glossy clothes? Well, maybe, personally I didn't like their Hitagi because of "leather" thighhighs, but it seems fine on Rin.
As someone mentioned about: http://ameblo.jp/gsc-mikatan-e/entry-10710032438.html>2010-11-18 16:32:30Really no difference there now. So what's all this hype about?
Room is dark, so I guess it's a flash effect.
>>7428028No idea.I didnt like it, too shiny imo. Actually there still isnt any good Rin fig besides the magical rin fig for me anyway.
>>7428044I think it's gorgeous. Maybe a little too glossy, but it still looks high-quality - the reason I personally generally dislike figures with overly-glossed finishes. Wishing I'd preordered it now. Also, preorders for Sengoku reissues are already back up at amiami.http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=FIG-MOE-2097&template=default/product/e_display.html
Ordered Sakura fig and merged it with Tohsaka. My Type Moon collection is finished.
>>7428267You sure about that? I sense a Saber deficiency.
>>7428267if you wanted one of each collection you could have just bought the type-moon heroine set
>>7428299>Saber deficiencyHehe, I'm not a Saberfag and I already have the best figure of Saber. I have in wishlist two extra figures, but one of this is a GK and no one sells the other one.
>>7428318>if you wanted one of each collection you could have just bought the type-moon heroine setI got only the best figures of characters I like.
>>7428351NekoArc and Kofi Annan?
>>7428267melty blood needs more love
>>>7428644Elegant and sexy.
>>7428028People on mfc will bitch about the tinest things and then let the whole world know they're cancelling their order
>>7428640It took me a minute to realize what was in this picture, because the hands are sort of fat, and I thought Ciel was the teacher from Higurashi.Anyway, I have the GSC Rin figure on preorder, and I'm really excited about it - I think it looks amazing.
Where can one buy magazines dedicated to eroge that will ship overseas? I figure that asking knowledgeable folk in this thread is better than making a thread. I'm not really a fan of proxy buying.
what is the cheapest method to get hobby japan stuff?
>>7429091proxy services are probably the only way to get such things.
>>7429091http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/book/http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&vgform=SimpleForm&template=default/product/e_genre_soft_book.htmlTake a look through them, there's plenty to choose from.
You want it?
>>7427065This has to be my dream figure.
>>7428907I want this bad. Like real bad.
>>7429204>You want it?Not really but this is a good figure. I was surprised to see prices after it was sold out. 300$ or more from these greedy hucksters.
You want this, right?
>>7429091http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/magazine/you can request specific magazines if they do not list them.
So this figure shipped and is in transit, but hasn't cleared customs yet and a Canadian postal strike is imminent.Am I fucked?
>>7429562no, they'll just think you're a no-life.
>>7429285I have that one. It is awesome. Also, dear lord, dust your fig.
Shitty pic, but this came earlier today and I finally had the opportunity to unbox it. Overall extremely pleased with it, but mine has a small paint defect on the right edge of her blouse, and her right foot doesn't like to fit in the peg very well. I'll sand the peg down eventually so no biggie. Overall great craftsmanship though.
>>7429650I fixed you're waifu.
>>7429562We'll see soon. I have GSR Miku in the same situation.
>>7429650>>7429674Things I am glad for:*Never drank the Type-Moon kool-aid.*Never drank the Touhou kool-aid.
I feel funny when I take poor pictures of figure ass.
I thought Graf Eisen was absurdly big when I got Vita, but Riot Zanber Bardiche is just ... the fuck?
WE REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PYLONS.
My Misaka Clone figma finally came in!
>>7430709#08281 --- Sorta close but no cigar.
GSC streaming Hakuji right now here:http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv51976192?ref=grel
>>7431274MOEEEEEEEEEEEE!Did they announce anything else?
This still alive?Nice sculpt, minus the bland face though.
Ah fuck, should've made a new thread instead.
>>7431975Oh shit, it's been painted.Any shots of painted Satori yet?
>>7431986Nah, only Nue. I have to admit though that the paint job looks sweet.
>>7431975I agree with bland face but I love the wings and the stand plus it's Nue. I will probably get this. Looking forward to the Komeiji sisters too, but I'm pretty sure I won't get them. Can't buy them all
>>7431999I just realized her dress isn't open in the back like it is in most fan-art. It's not like I expected it but still, kinda disappointing. It would have been amazing.
>>7432329People seem to think Touhous' wings grow out of their backs, so they need holes for wings. Of course, the wings are part of their clothes.
>>7432362Next you'll be saying that their hats aren't part of their bodies.BLASPHEMY
On one of those fancy 4-6 weeks backorder models, when is it a good time to ask if they are getting any? I think it has gone about 5 weeks.Just wondering a bit how long it usually takes for others who attempt those backorder orders.
STUPID EMO-BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TAKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHA, I FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!
>>7432668I'm assuming you ordered from HLJ? You just wait and hope. Always go with a guaranteed preorder or an instock over a backorder. I've got some stuff on backorder (well, mix of in-stock and backorder) and I'm hoping they get it in because right after I ordered some other sites opened up actual re-release for a couple of the backorder items. from experience i can say that the backorder isn't always going to give you a positive result. they'll try/place an order with the manufacturer and wait for about two months and if they don't get it they'll cancel the order.feel free to send them an email now. 5 weeks is a good enough time for a status update.
I see this fucking figure 3rd time already shot by the same guy on mfc and I already hate it.
Are your bodies ready for Sawako Nendoroid?
>>7434407My body is but my wallet isn't.
>>7434407It's impossible to give a fuck about something like this, sorry.
>>7434407Does it come with bubbles?
>>7426240I thought I'd sworn off static figures (too much investment for something that just sits there, no matter how pretty) until I saw this pop up. I'm such a Murata fag and I just love her design
>>7434540I'm of the opposite mindset. I much rather fixed figurines since I'd never touch a figma once I get 'the' perfect pose. For me, those purchases are for room decorations. Rather than muck around with it, grab a great looking fixed and it's done. All I need to do is dust it from time to time. All I need to do is grab a nice looking glass display cabinet and I can look into grabbing nendoroids as well...

Nabbed this from yahoo auctions jp using Yokatta. Overall it came to 13282 yen (fees etc included), which I'd say is p good considering that it's an exclusive.
>>7438638All of my eternal jealousy.
Just got the order confirmation from mandarake for this. Gonna be like $180 after shipping but still a hell of a lot cheaper than I've seen her on ebay, amazon, and conventions.
Should be getting this GK soon, got all my paints, airbrush and other supplies ready. Should have it painted in a day or so. I hope e2046 actually makes those other okuu GKs, i like the other two way more than this on.What do you guys think of this one?
>>7438993Her details should be green not blue, her ribbons are too big, her awesome cape is missing, the arm "cannon" is wrong, that stone on her feet is missing and I feel that a Utsuho fig should have a nuclear danmaku around her or something else to express her nuclear powers. It's a pretty poor fig.
>>7439088Its just a pic of a GK, all the other pics i've seen of it are green instead of blue. I agree that the whole cape missing and nothing on her legs is a bit annoying, kinda less okuuy. As for nuclear danmaku, that would be a bit distracting, If I really go overboard maybe ill make a nice base/diarama and have some otherwise ill just have a nuclear/radiation symbol on the base. Heck, for that matter I could sculpt a cape, the elephants foot (i believe its called) and the electrons around her other leg. Also, about the ribbon, yeah its not even the right shape or anything. Her cannon is fine, haven't you seen the "okuu's fancy cannon" pool on gelbooru or danbooru? The two things that bother me the most are probably her face (can be painted differently so no biggie) but mostly the third eye, its just a brooch on that. It may not be the best okuu figure but its one of the few on the market and its 1/6 scale, 34cm tall which I guess is nice.
Does anyone buy figures at conventions? I'm an avid collector but haven't been to any large conventions before. I'm planning to go to Otakon next month and I'm wondering if I should cancel my orders for June to buy them at the convention instead. Anyone had experience with this?Pic is a random photo I took of Enma Ai (Alter) awhile ago.
>>7439210I've only gotten figures at conventions, though I'm not as big a collector as most people in this thread. I find that looking around and being able to stumble upon a nice figure and then immediately buy it is very satisfying. All of my figures are in front of me right now (19 total), and personally I've slowly shifted from the cheap random packs to more expensive but nicer figs. The most expensive ones I have are still only $30 though. Anyway, it's fun.
>>7439210I wouldn't if I were you, one of my friends runs a booth at the numerous cons (large and small) in my area. He lives just off of the money he makes at cons. Im considering doing it as well cause fuck they get away with such high markups.Apparently they sell nendoroids for $70-90, even new(ish) ones like the HMO one. Its a given that you're gonna get ripped off, just to how much is the question.Don't cancel any of your orders unless you want to pay out the ass for them, expect to pay over 2x as much if you preordered them if you buy them at the con.
>>7439210From my experience, you might find something but don't plan on it. And whatever you buy will be at a massive markup.
>>7439246Thanks for the advice! I've heard many booths do rip people off, but I've also heard some people finding good deals (especially if you think about the conversion rate plus shipping). However, I hear both good and bad so I guess for now I'll play it safe and keep my orders.Kanbaru is one of the orders I was thinking of cancelling but only because I think she might get re-released like Nadeko.
>>7439177Oh yeah, I didn't comment on the eye because I couldn't see it properly from the pic, but if that's really it than it's another big strike. Her cannon still bothers me. I haven't seen any pools and I don't really care for them, for me the figure should follow the cannon or else I feel like I'm buying something else entirely. In fact I wasn't even sure that was Okuu until I read your post, this is what happens when the product deviates a lot from the original.Again her powers don't really have to be a danmaku but Utsuho is a character that draws a lot from her abilities, it should have some sort of impact on the overall fig. Like this Remilia fig. Now Griffon doesn't make the best figs and we've all seen how QUALITY their stuff can get, but this is one of the best Touhou figs out there simply because it shows more than just a pretty pose, it shows her actually attacking and one of her main weapons. It helps a lot to express her overall character. Now comparing something like that with a GK might be a bit unfair, but I've seen some pretty awesome GKs around here before, and you did ask what I thought of it.
>>7439216I've always gone to Anime North these past few years and have come back with two or three figs every time, but recently I've found that just about everything I see on sale are things I've already bought from Amiami. Odds are you'll still see something you like that you missed, though, so I encourage you to give it a try at least once in your life. For instance, I got my Kouhime figure from last year's AN, about $80, only a slight mark-up from what it would cost to order and ship online. I even saw rare stuff like the Cross Days LE with the Kotonoha-sama Nendoroid it came with, too bad the $200 price tag was far beyond my budget.
>>7439269I admit there may be one or two people that might not know the value of what they have but the chances are so slim. The only thing you can get for cheap at cons are things that they can order huge bulk orders of. Also, beware of fakes if you do buy anything, I can safety guarantee that almost all nendoroid petites (the random ones in the boxes) will be fakes. That being said there are a lot of fake things in general, cheaply printed chinese dakimakuras, fake nendos and so on. The best way to play it safe is if you can actually examine the product (such as dakimakuras) or most figures (through the window in the box).>>7439279Yeah, they really do need better okuu figures, ill probably make a diorama for her.
>>7439279Oh yeah, I might add that even though I have all those problems with her she seems pretty well detailed and I do like the pose, which is eons above many generic griffon figs. But still I wouldn't get it. She looks good but she isn't Utsuho.
>>7439285hey I was there too, did you cosplay or run a booth?I was pretty pissed off about most of the touhou cosplayers, especially the furified momeji (shes not supposed to have a tail damnit). That okuu guy's cannon was pretty cool but it was obvious he was a guy, like most touhou cosplayers. I did however see like a 7 year old who was wearing a token hat, im guessing she was trying to be an aya cosplayer but im sorry, that does not fucking count.
>>7439279Utsuho's fancy cannon pool : http://hijiribe.donmai.us/pool/show/2318Its dedicated to irregular cannons for okuu.
>>7439246>>7439269>>7439279I'll chip in my opinion about figures at cons as well. I haven't seen $70 nendos but many many of the booths are actually carrying KO's and pricing them at regular retail price. Be aware of your buys when you go.I bought the Yamato Ignis one year for around $65 which was a pretty good price...then bought the Koto Kenshin for $80 last year which I found out was a rip off. I panicked at first since there were only 2 at a booth in the back end of the dealer room but I saw one or two later for $65 the next few days.
>>7439285I am hoping I might spot some older figures I missed out on for a decent price. Not expecting miracles but it would be nice to at least get within a good range.>>7439286Yeah, I can't see many people not being able to know the value of certain figures so I'll keep my orders for now.Being a collector for years I am very aware of the bootleg issue. I haven't bought one personally but I have seen them selling in stores and photos of them as well. Having said that I'll still take your advice to heart when I go to the con.
>>7439318good luck, maybe you can find some good deals, after all, it can't hurt to look.
Just came in today
Picked this up a couple years ago for 35 bucks because of a damaged box. You never know what you might find.Don't cancel any of your preorders though. Most of the booths only carry stuff that has been released for NA which is always months behind and the selection isn't always great.
>>7439349Nice, the stand and mouth look a bit awkward but still pretty nice.
>>7439349i'd come in it too
>>7439359Impressive price on GSC Alicia! These are the types of golden deals I hope to find, but I won't pin my hopes on them. Thanks for informing me about the release dates usually being months behind. I know NA releases are usually late but I never purchase from US stores I wasn't sure if it was the same for all of them.
>>7439349I will pass, the fig itself is okay, but the white stand looks really awful. just my opinion.
>>7439296I wish I could cosplay but I can never decide who to be, and I'm far too lazy and awkward to run a booth (as expected). And yeah, it's always been about that level. It can't be helped.Although last year there was the one Remi and her fellow cosplaying friends who were absolutely hnnnng.
>>7439382I'm pretty sure they more or less order from the same places we do, anyway. The local figure stores have been bringing in stock as I've been seeing them released on Amiami. I can't complain, though, they only markup about $5-10 per fig, and the girl who staffs the one is incredibly cute in cosplay.
>>7438763Heh, so you're the guy who got that? Lucky you did, I was planning on it.
>>7439451One of the more popular ones near me actually does this, or at least I think they do. They get in their pre-orders usually 1-2 weeks after Japanese release. Marked up anywhere from $5-10 but shipping is pretty much a flat 9 bucks for near next day delivery.
>>7439349How was Griffon's quality control on this figure?
>>7439359What's up with sellers marking down figures just because the box is damaged? Most of the time I can barely see what's wrong. Not that I'm complaining or anything.
