I only recently started looking myself, but it seems like they always have a thread going or at least they have the entirety of this weekend. As soon as it hits bump/image limit, someone puts a new one up. They're not as good as the threads we have here, on /d/, or even the ones on /a/. It's just some camwhores self-posting and a bunch of chasers telling them how sexy they look and begging for skype/msn. No tips, no stories, no life to the threads, really. I've been considering self-posting, just to see what sort of reaction I'd get, but honestly I don't like the "community" there and, since it would be my first time doing so, it's not an environment I'd feel comfortable exposing myself.

Do consider it. A well chosen wig can make the face look a lot smaller. In particular, you'll probably want something longish (shoulder-length, minimum) and curly (more volume makes the face look comparatively smaller) that frames the face and has bangs.

has anyone tried epilating their face? i dont like how shaving still leaves a grey shade to the areas...

>> No.7418704

>>7418679
I've tried that before, but I only did it on the under side of my jaw because I had a few odd hairs I couldn't get with a normal shave.

It hurt like hell. Your facial skin is very sensitive more than your legs I think and I've later read it can cause scaring to the skin. So don't do it.

I'm considering talking to a dermatologist about facial IPL treatment. You can also get it removed by lazer which is expensive and it grows back in a few months, or permanently removed by electrolysis which can be painful, expensive, and takes a long time.

There are also chemical epilation cremes some of which can also be used on the face as long as it doesn't hurt or give you a rash.

The masculine form is more prone to present a V shape than any other, while V shaped women are probably a huge minority.

Working out increases muscle mass which "hardens" a lot of muscle around vital areas. So you have to be careful you don't actually make yourself more masculine.

Fat is essential for successfully passing. The lack of fat will be detrimental to your ability to properly fill out anywhere close to the right curves. Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iONM3BZDiPI

Fat is even more important if you are on HRT because of the redistribution to areas like the hips and backside. A typical woman should seem as if her shoulders are less broad than her hips and you are better off trying to accentuate this the width of your hips and minimize your shoulders.

Alternatively you can also try corset training for a slimmer waist, and feminization exercises, for example around the stomach to minimize the fat around your waist.

You should be able to find a pair of quality pantyhose in most sizes. Remember that fashion models are prized for their length and exceptionally long legs.

This is a problem of getting clothes that don't fit you, probably don't suit you, and aren't very good.

Generally speaking if you put together a cheap outfit you will look cheap, and you can't lose sight of that even if you're dressing as a different gender than you're used to. Go with either black or skin tone but if you want color you're better off with something else like socks, stockings, and tights.

Can't say I know that feel, though I've come way too close for comfort. I only do it at 1-5am (like everything else crossdressing related) since most everyone is asleep. Only thing is, my brother who is usually away at college and keeps the same hours I do tends to take notice when once a week I take a 1-1.5 hour long "bath". Once asked what the noise he heard was, basically ignored the question.

>>7421027
Yes, it's perfectly normal to want to do something fetish related when you're horny. For me, epillation is just a part of my regular hygiene routine now. After masturbating, I usually find myself getting out of the girl's clothing immediately though. Partly because I don't want to stain it, partly because I don't want to get caught, and partly because I don't feel I need it as much afterwards. It's funny though, because crossdressing is more than just a fetish to me, since I would live a double life if I had the resources.

Are you awake between the hours of 12 and 5 am? Do your parents sleep soundly? Is your room far from your parents? Would you be able to hear them coming? If the answers to these questions are yes, don't worry about it so much, especially if you aren't wearing anything more than a skirt+tights. Those can quickly be hidden underneath a pair of pajama bottoms. If what you like to wear is more complex (fake boobs, wig, etc.), just get a lock. Combined with the above, you'll have more than enough time to make yourself presentable if need be.

>transsexuals
You know I hate that term, and I hate the community of transsexuals as well as the transsexual lifestyle and transsexual understanding they try to promote.

I don't understand how someone who really views themselves as a girl can or even wishes to label themselves as anything other than a girl.

I would pick male over transsexual any day. Maybe the stigma against transitioning that >>7422801 notes is somehow related to a similar feeling shared by others or is it just me?

>> No.7422999

>>7422947
For some, it's stigma. For some, it's fear of society's reprisal and not being accepted. For some, it's fear of not transitioning well. For some, it's fear of the side-effects. For some, it's not wanting to chop off an appendage you've grown very attached to. For some, it's a desire to one day bear your own children. For some, it's just because it's icky. For me, it's because I'm happy enough the way I am.

As for identifying as a trans individual, it's not that they identify as a trans person over identifying as a man/woman (or at least that's the case with my MtF friend), it's that you can never fully do away with who you once were and having an identity that you can share with others lends more naturally to forming support groups. It's a shared experience that others can relate to. It's less like saying "I'm a man" or "I'm white" and more like saying "I survived domestic violence" or "I was an alcoholic" (hate to pull those two cards, but it's the best example I can think of).

>> No.7423059

>>7422999
That's all well and good but it's a waste of life I think. What is the point of transitioning if you have to be constantly reminded that you're a freak? And I don't mean other people reminding you but actively reminding yourself.

There is a difference between surviving domestic violence and making it your entire life. I've always noted a lot of people describing themselves as TG-girl, transmen, transwomen, and other stuff like that. Most of them are older of past generations and already have their own adult children. They also seem way more surgery heavy and fixated on large breasts and poorly done bombshell looks than their younger counterparts.

The younger generation seems more relaxed passably feminine with more identifying solely as female or male.

I've had to deal with other issues before so I know the problem isn't unique to gender dysphoria. My experience is that support groups and communities can help at first when you're initially coming to terms with everything and might need to bounce around a few ideas. But after that they quickly become unhealthy and highly depressing, and the people that remain often let it affect their whole life.

Just look at AUTISM communities. Autism pride? Autistic rights? Autistic as a U.N. recognized minority group? Autistic revisionism of history? Autism as the next stage in evolution? Autistic master race?

I would never identify myself as having something like autism unless I was being ironic among my peers or if it was medically or legally prudent for me to do so.

This is something I've wondered about for a long time, ever since I found out what a transsexual was.

Thing is, I'm mostly attracted to girls though I've masturbated to men and traps before, and I want to look completely like a girl. I don't care one bit whether I'm actually a man, or a girl, or a 'transsexual'. I have many of the symptoms of a transsexual (Anxiety over puberty, dissatisfaction with my male social identity) but I just don't care if anyone ever thinks of me as a woman.

I would almost go so far as to say it's just a case of me having radically different aesthetics about my body image then the norm for my sex.

In any case I hope that in the future plastic surgery advances beyond turning people into monsters. The stem cell stuff is very promising.

Actually the thing is that sexuality and gender identity aren't necessarily the same thing. You can also be a lesbian girl trapped in a male body, which makes sense because you have undoubtedly been exposed to the male sex hormone for a significant portion of your life.

I'm also hoping that research goes into high gear so we can start seeing some better results than cutting stuff up to make it look like something else. A lot of people insist you can't be serious if you don't want the horrible operations but I'm a squeamish and shy kind of girl with a needle and knife phobia and I don't have an extreme fixation to the point of inflicting self-harm for a fantasy. I don't think gender identity is a fantasy, but chopping off bits and inverting your penis into a six inch hole so you can have a female body clearly is a fantasy.

The way the brain and all the different cells in your body works is really interesting. It would be nice if one day we could pin-point reprogram different parts to grow as easily as new finger nails, and perhaps reverse growth too. Even your bones have to renew themselves, it's just a shame that they keep the same shape throughout.

Do you have scabbing issues when epilating your upper lip? I've only done it once, which caused it to scab up for a few days. It was a clear scab at least, and it healed fine, but I'm worried that repeatedly epilating there might cause permanent scarring.

Chisame? If you're still here, I have a quick question. I recall last year before this whole enlistment thing happened that you simply resorted to plucking your facial hair as opposed to actually epilating it. Epilating is pretty quick, I just run it along my body for a few minutes and bam, I'm done, I can go take a nice shower or bath and start on something else. What I've really not been taking care of is my hair, I've gotten white hairs all over the place from bad food, less than ideal shampoo and other crap. It's going to take me quite a bit to recondition my hair after I get out and a few more years to get it back to length.

How much to get into crossdressing? Depends on your tastes and how far you want to go. If a skirt+tights is all you feel you need to be satisfied, $40 is more than enough to get started. If you want to go full force into this, expect to drop a few hundred for various outfits, shoes, undergarments, stuffing materials, wig, make-up, epillator/assloads of shaving heads, etc. Start small though. Skirt+tights is always a great starting point.

For thrifty shopping, I'm a big fan of Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. I've gotten a number of nice, cute skirts there, all for under $25. For cute socks and tights, there is of course Sock Dreams, but expect to drop a little money there. It's worth it for nice quality items though. Undergarments I'm not too big into, since I care a lot more about what's showing, and shirts/blouses I'm not that into, simply because skirts interest me more, so you're on your own there.

>> No.7426560

Okay, I see. It shouldn't be too hard to get started at least, I guess the big problem for me is body hair though. I don't plan to get too into it, but I'd like to attempt a few things at least.

So skin types can be categorized by race as well as how oily it is, the color and sensitivity.

Everybody also knows that there are hair types, and that ethnicity affects them greatly. This is how black people are able to sustain an afro easier, and why Asians usually are able to have longer and thinner hair.

Born without fashion magazines given to us, and without decades of experimenting to find out what does and does not work, it is understandable that many of us are clueless and lost when it comes to care and fashion.
Even worse is that what works for one person might not work for somebody else...

If you're doing something and it causes a rash, scabbing, or bleeding; then you need to re-evaluate your options. I suggest everyone that isn't sure about what might be best for them go and see a professional dermatologist.

If you don't want to end like some washed up tranny with thick makeup over obviously bubbly and uneven skin then you need to make sure you take proper care of it. This is especially true for those with thicker, darker, and coarse hair but with finer and fair skin types.

True story, I spent weeks just sleeping and being lazy and when I finally got up and started to shave it HURT really bad. There is no doubt it causes a level of skin damage when not used to a form of hair removal.

If you want to get a closer shave then warm up your face with water, lather it up with conditioner and let it soak in. Repeat until it feels ready, then rinse it off and pad a hot wash cloth over the area you're going to shave. Carefully shave that area in each direction. Wash your face when you're done and then pad a cold wash cloth against your face to let it cool off and settle down. After you can apply your moisturizers and cremes as usual.

>> No.7426606

>>7426560
>I guess the big problem for me is body hair
If it's just arms and legs you're worried about and you really don't want to do any actual hair removal at first, stick to long sleeves and invest in a good, thick pair of opaque tights. Thickness is measured in a unit known as denier, you'll want to find the highest you can. Honestly though, I'd avoid this option if you can, simply because tights don't feel as nice with all of that hair.

For leg hair removal on hairy individuals, I do not suggest shaving the first time. You'll just end up sitting in disgusting, hairy bathwater before you even finish 1/4th of the job. Instead, stop by your local drugstore and pick up some Veet or Nair or whatever. It won't cost you more than $10 and will save you a lot of time. Follow the directions about taking a full day to test the product first, since some people have skin that just does not work well with depillatory agents. When you do go to do the whole thing, don't worry about removing everything in one go. You can go over whatever areas you missed the next day or a few hours later with a razor. Be sure to apply lotion after any form of hair removal. It's not good for the skin and the lotion helps to repair the damage, smooth the skin, and results in a more feminine appearance.

I do recommend getting an epillator if you decide to stay hairless. Blades on a good razor (and you want to use a good razor for better, longer lasting shaves with less cuts, bumps, and ingrowns) are pretty expensive ($2 a piece) and you will eat through them very quickly by shaving hairy legs. I ate through at least a blade a week when I was shaving. An epillator will set you back $80-$125 once, but shaving heads for a year will cost you almost the same, so you'll save money in the end by getting an epillator.

Wide shoulders are masculine as it had already been noted in this thread. Wide shoulders and slim hips creates a V shape and only about a tenth of women have such a shape.

You can minimize the effect of your shoulders and maximize your other features with the right kind of clothes and colors that suit you.

The only time you have a problem is if your shoulders are like twice as broad as the width of your face from the center on each side. Or if you have extremely thick corded muscles and neck. Otherwise you can experiment with several techniques to hide your masculinity and bring out your inner girl.
