Well, considering what they would write on her in http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wik...ty/SkinsTrivia (And the level of "clear references" there) Lux(League of Legends) might bear some... resembles to Marisa Kirisame (Touhou). Additionally "The fact Shurelia was in charge of her creation might also tend to this theory, as Shurelia has previously displayed numerous signs of affection to the verse" is left without any kind of evidence (which the whole sub page lacks really...)

Actually Until now, I wanted your opinion on which Lux is or not a Touhou reference, but right now I just want to show Fanboyism, internet can be stupid, and it is something to laugh or be sacred... I don't know yet.

To clear things out for you:
Her joke "Light mage? I'm just an ordinary mage" is said to be a reference ("draws heavy inspiration") to Marisa "The Ordinary Witch", as well as her Sorceress skin (Which does not even include a dress, which Marisa outfit does.). When ever it is true, it is not clear what is a reference to what, and clearly, this alone do not pint point anything, as it is wide as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mage .

Finales Funkeln vs. Final spark. This alone might put some light on which those two characters are related. First thing, why it is translated to German? Maybe to avoid any contact with Marisa in the first place? Also in the Champion spotlight Shurelia says: "Lux's ultimate spell is Finales Funkeln, also knows as the mega death laser..." Also refines that it is not aiming for a Touhou reference. Laser not = spark.

There are references about Wriggle and Youmu in LoL, so it's nothing unexpected. There are too many hints to consider it just fanboyism, but Lux is more of a stacking bunch of references than an homage to a single character.

Olaf, also a champion in League of Legends, has a skill/item (?) called Youmuu's Ghostblade.

Actually I was commenting on fact that pretty much most of writers aren't really concerned about stories/plots/characters they write, because they know no one is really going care about it.

Looking from practical standpoint it's easier and what more important cheaper to put references to other things. Also it helps with marketing, later you can just put "LOL GUYS LOOK IT'S XXXX FROM ZZZZ" viral thread/video/commercial for your thing often for people who have really loose connections (read: not interested) to your product. Addition + is fact that people who won't understand reference simply will ignore it so it won't have any negative factors for them.
