What's everyone's favourite Spell Cards?

>> No.7392046

Fujiyama Volcano and Mountain of Faith/Virtue of Wind God

I don't like playing the latter but I do like looking at it.

Youkai Polygraph

I liked the whole concept of making a graph-like pattern into danmaku

Marisa's non directional laser and rainbow danmaku. Both very fun.

Probably "Instinct 「Release of the Id」" and "Suppression 「Super-ego」". They just seemed so wrong to me until I learned to capture them, then they seemed so right. Plus, it made me glad that ZUN god to make that returning danmaku he said he wanted to in the spell card quotes from IN.

This artist. Where can I find the rest of these. I know there are a bunch made for each of the last words in IN, but this is the first I've seen outside of that.

My top 3:

1. Fairy Overdrive
2. Resurrection Butterfly
3. Lavatein

>> No.7392121

I like and hate Fairy Overdrive. The reason for the hate? Because it's where I always lost whenever I played Fairy Wars. It got annoying until I actually did manage to beat it, but when I lost, it was to that card.

I dunno, playing MoF/Virtue of Wind God is really fun. In the Normal version, you can just macrododge all of the waves, and I've always enjoyed bouncing between focus and unfocus darting around danmaku. The Hard/Lunatic versions also force you to make judgment calls and have quick bursts of tight dodges, which makes things even more interesting.
Not really sure why so many people don't like it, to be honest.

Native God [Froggy Braves the Elements]

I could watch this spellcard go on all day.

The ACE replay? It's incredibly obvious that it was played at a lowered frame rate.

1. What is slowdown rate, anyway?
2. Am I supposed to plan out my every move? I've always played Touhou solely on reflex. Also, I tend to get a little jittery and tense when I play.
3. Grazing is by far my favorite thing to do in Touhou. It's all I aim for when I play.

Well, if you don't believe me, so be it.

I guess. I'm not terribly familiar with the semantics, but all I'm trying to say is that it was tool assisted.
>And it is obviously not.

>>7392646
>But... he's not supergrazing at all...
Hence the "trying".

I'm not calling it out because it's impressive or something. I'm calling it out because it was painful to watch and I'm confused why anybody would actually do that.

Your movement in that replay isn't replicable by a human at full speed. You're pretty obviously tap-moving over and over for extremely short periods of time, which is only doable by slowing down the game's speed externally. It's clear to anyone who isn't brain-dead or blind that your replay isn't legit. Sorry, bud!
