Finally got to play CS2 earlier. On the PS3 though, so sadly, no Platinum yet.

I can't use Hazama worth a shit anymore, but I adjusting well to Rachel again, who was my main in CT. Surprisingly, I've been doing rather decently with Tsubaki despite only playing with her for a few hours. Not sure if she's just easy to use, or if everyone else is having trouble adjusting to their character changes online as well.

Tager is back to being the worst character in the game. He's in Rachel Tier all by himself.

He's still decent in low-mid level play, but anyone who knows what they're doing will be able to completely curbstomp him unless you get really lucky with guesses.

Tsubaki is pretty easy to use. Her combos are simple as hell to link into and aren't as strict as others when it comes to the timing. The only thing you really need to master is the timing for her charges.

You should be fine. Most people online aren't pro level anyway, so Tager is still a viable option most of the time. I've seen level 60-70 people still slip up against Tager players that were a much lower level than them.

Might be an uphill battle, but you shouldn't be losing every match or anything as long as you're decent.

Back when Makoto was first released, I really liked her fighting style and drive. Her voice was awesome too. (sure she's no Kano Ueda). I know what everyone thinks of Tager, and I am not even here to claim otherwise or dispute.
But considering how you discuss Noel and her game, and how you have all already covered Tager, I just thought I could bump in and share this, for whatever its worth.

I know fair and well Tager's deal and why he have struggled at the bottom since the game's conception.
But even though it might not show much, I just thought I would point out how I have fought many PSR 150+ Noels alredy with Tager, and won. Considering it is a top vs bottom kind of deal, objectively from the tiers, I still think it is worth of some notice.

For all Noel is worth people really needs to keep in mind what works and what does not at all times.
Playing against an overly defensive character with quick reversals and good combo followup oppurtunities one can't assume a good pressure and mixup game is going to work all way. All that is needed is one brink of a moment and one can go from guard to reversals right in the middle of Noels D attacks, despite the seemingly fast pressure it might seem like they can dish out otherwise.

Not really trying to say much here, other than despite the tiers, Noel still have lots of weaknesses that might perhaps not be all that apparent, but undoubtly easily abusable.
Likewise, Tager, being the gimmick character he is, with a good sense of mind and defensive play, he can turn around the game with a quick reversal and follow up combo like no other, but yes, we still know how that works out in the long run. Noel is still at the top and Tager bottom for a reason, but no need to talk down Tager more than necessarily, nor glorify Noel more than she deserves.

It's mashing when the player does 2D out of another player's blockstring, and then later gets counterhit doing the same thing in the same place. Obviously, he's mashing it.

It takes a lot more skill to beat a D mashing Noel than it does to play her. You have to anticipate her movements and oki with really weird things, and if you don't have an anti-air that hits crouchers and can be chained out of, you're shit out of luck. On the other hand, all she has to do is "herp a derp 2D/4D". Obviously, it's possible to beat, otherwise R-1's PSR wouldn't be so low after a set of matches with kaqn.

In fact, I don't even care that much about D's being so good. It's Optic Barrel that makes all the bullshit safe. Being extremely fast but still plus on block is retarded, especially when she can cancel the D's into it without even hitting the opponent.

Nu was fucked up because of 2C and 5C autoturn + 5000-6000 on CH, when combined with her zoning. Nu's 2C was pretty much the best normal in all of CT because of speed, range, safety and damage. It didn't help that her backdash and act puslar backwards was also way too good.

Bang was only easy, and had good average damage and oki. Makoto, Taokaka and Litchi were more fucked up. Litchi and Makoto were touch of death characters with amazing mixup and pressure. And in Litchi's case, range. Taokaka could get 5K from fullscreen CH j.D into taunt loop. She did 4k+ on average too. And of course, range and movement potential.

Noel actually lost some invincibility on her 5D I believe. It's just that every little thing leads to big damage now, and her normals are actually good. Makoto is almost the same character as CS1, which means she's stupid good.

When you look at the new damage output of the Noel 5D it DOES have a slight nerf in damage output, but that is outweighed and rendered a lesser concern when weighed alongside the more overwhelming flaw in her character. Bang may be considered 'easy' to play, and may not be a heavily offensive powerhouse like before, but he's still beyond epic. Overall, while competitive play may prove difficult as less 'experienced' players may immediately gravitate toward nail spam and getting his install off immediately, Bang has a surprisingly versatile moveset and is fairly good in the mind game department. If the ultimate Tager player is to Mike Z, then the god of all Bang players is Dora. Take a look at some of the brilliant stunts that have been pulled in the past with him, and if the argument comes up that 'he's still not top tier and requires no skill' then there's only one thing that can really be said...

BANG BANG BANG BANG!!! Will be stuck in your head all through the next match you play, when you desperately need to focus on anticipating Hazama's next move. I am still a bit dissapointed by Makoto's in game design/outfit.

In the story, you got to see her in her school and NOL uniforms, none of which were slutty in any way.
And then, at the announcement of her becoming a playable character, BAM, there she was! And with the least clothes of any character in the game.
She is still fun though, but that was sort of a bummer.

We never actually see Tager fight at full power since Kokonoe orders him to just gather information most of the time and retreat when things start to look bad.

It's been implied that he's able to at least fight Ragna to a standstill (without the Azure Grimoire activated), so he'd be a bit higher up on the list than a lot of the other playable characters.
