I'm no H&K fanboy, but the USP's mag release really isn't in that untraditional of an area.

That said, I'll stick with my trusty 1911 any day.

Now that I think of it, you should be holding your gat with both hands anyway.

.45 ACP is okay for military types that can't aren't allowed to use JHPs as per the Hague Convention, but why any civilian would prefer it over 9mm, .357 SIG, or 10mm auto is beyond me.

Let's not get into a caliber preference thread - especially on /jp/. Suffice to say, shot placement > caliber. I just prefer the ergonomics of a 1911.

Accuracy. It's got a gentler recoil in some guns, because of the lower pressures. On the other hand, with 185 grain projectiles, you get the snappier kick, but you also get solidly into the .357 magnum range of power (600 foot-pounds or so.) 9mm +P or even +P+ can do that too, but the recoil will be snappier.

Subsonic projectiles tend to perform differently then 9mm, as well. It generally boils down to personal preference; since either cartridge in the right gun is a fine tack driver. I doubt anybody worries about capacity that much, since tons of people use revolvers for self-defense and they work just fine.

fixed. I wish more people would pick caliber based on things like trajectory, felt recoil, et al instead of trying to apply some half-assed pseodu-alchemy to determine the mythical "stoppan powah." They're bullets, they fucking kill people. Bigger ones are good for killing deer. Woohoo.

So many guns I want. So little cash.

All I know about guns is from STALKER.
And a little from Fallout.

>tons of people use revolvers for self-defense

I never understood that myself. For home defense, nothing beats a shotgun if you know how to use it. For CC, a revolver is either uncomfortable and unwieldy (if its a full-size) or has poor ballistics due to the short barrel (if it's a snub-nose). And while it's true they're reliable, it's not as though modern polymer framed semi-autos are unreliable if they've been correctly maintained.
