If language is a sign for anything.

Chinese created the Chinese language, taught it to the Koreans, then the Koreans taught it to the Japanese.

Japanese made the Kana, because they couldn't keep up with Kanji. Then the Koreans also decided to make their own thing, probably out of nationalism. Then even the Chinese simplified their language, only the Taiwanese and HongKongese chose not to, just to spite China.

Well you better start fucking looking because Ceramics is a big one - the oldest ceramic artisans in Japan can all trace their heritage back to Korean artisans.

China traditionally didn't want anything to do with Japan, which were known to be pirates that razed sea towns to kidnap people for the slave trade. For trade, Japan always had to go through Korea like how Israel has to always go through Lebanon.

If you learn Japanese history, a majority of their strife with Korea and China have to do with opening ports for trade vs their nasty habit of piracy.

I would expect Korean revisionism in North Korea as they actually preserved their traditional Korean culture instead of selling their souls to the west.
It's really ironic when South Koreans try to justify Korean Revisionism. Especially considering their current culture is just a farce of modern Japanese culture.

The character is clearly different from the regular tsu, being much smaller. English has nothing like that. The same letters are just pronounced in many different ways depending on word origin.

No, you pronounce it matte, which is ma (glotal stop) te. Which is the way you pronounce double consonants in Japanese. If you knew how to read kana, you would understand how to pronounce it.
Unlike English, where you can read the word but not know how to pronounce it.

For where it counts, it does. When your it's things like pop music that affect children/teens/young adults when they are impressionable. Just like how you probably got into anime at that age, and how you are probably still into Japan.

Things such as global financial power, etc isn't going to really impact individuals lives like a hobby will.

Especially stuff like k-pop, where the cost to produce vs the amount gained is marginally different. You can make money faster.

IGNORANCE: THE THREAD

The Culture of Korea is mostly from the Chinese, as is the Japanese culture. There's a reason the Far East is also called the sinosphere.

Japanese gaining Chinese culture came in waves. The first wave was the Korean and Chinese immigration to Japan, which started the Yayoi period where they pretty much dominated the Jomon civilization that came before it.

Then during the Qin Dynasty the Qin Emperor sent out a colony to Japan. That colony taught the Japanese how to farm and anything else they taught can only be guessed at.

Then during the Tang Dynasty actual Japanese people went to China to learn from them. That's when the Japanese got most of their historical culture. From Sword Making, hairstyles, architecture, Tea ceremony, writing system and all that shit.

Then during the Song Dynasty they adopted the Chinese warrior culture which in Japan eventually became the Samurai culture.

The only true Japanese are the indigenous Ainu people who were there for 15,000+ years.

Everyone else is just Korean colonists who mostly arrived in 500BCE bringing wet rice farming and culture to the savage island. The Japanese are too proud to admit this, but their DNA betrays them.

Japan is a relatively young country by Asian standards so it makes sense that all of their culture is appropriated from the mainland.

>August 04, 2005 ㅡ The Korean Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced yesterday that Korean people are genetically closer to Japanese people than to Chinese people. The study found that Koreans' DNA is closer to that of Japanese people than that of Chinese. Koreans are genetically closer to Chinese than to Caucasians, and to Caucasians than to Africans, according to the center. The comparison data was provided by TSC, an American research team that collects genetic information and carries out large-scale DNA analyses.

But what do they know...

Put aside genetics...

Why not look at history? Korea began to colonize nearby islands around 500BCE. They brought with them rice farming as well as iron and bronze tools.

Within 50 years Japan went from a stagnant 15,000 year old stone age culture to the sudden emergence of the Yayoi period (who suddenly had bronze, iron, and wet rice farming techniques). Their pottery suddenly went from primitive neolithic jars to more elaborate designs created on pottery wheels.

Denying the Japanese people are Korean colonists would be like denying white people landed on Plymouth rock. "White people never came to America from western Europe. We were always here!"

"but.. but.. slanty eyes!"

White people mixing with Indians produced Shania Twain and Burt Reynolds. Koreans mixing with Ainu tribes created the modern Japanese.
