It's mostly the fault of "haters". /jp/ has an average sage rate of 25% ffs.
Especially people, who post reported as first reply, even though it is a /jp/ topic, ruin this board.
Frankly said, I have moved most of my /jp/-related discussions to /a/, /toy/ and /v/. I only rarely drop by these days. Leave alone open a thread.
/jp/ should be reverted to Japan/General. That's the only way to shut you faggots up.

What's wrong with using sage? I've used it many times to discuss things with one or two other people on a thread in the higher page numbers. It keeps the page 1 idiots out.

There is nothing wrong with saging a thread, simply because you don't want to litter page 1, or other people joining in,
but skimming through /jp/ that's not its primary use at all.

If you want to think so, though, I won't stop you from continuing to live a sweet lie.

>> No.7326469

pinnacle of /jp/ was when we had true NEET in every thread, diaper threads, floor shitting, less people whining "quality", more people filtering trip users/spam, we all knew janitors were useless and would only fuck it up worse, and everyone was bros basically. Idolers kept in their threads completely scared to venture into /jp/ territory. There was some anime posts once in a while but they mostly kept it to the minimal since it's expected you know whats what if you give a shit about anime on /jp/.

/jp/ really went downhill once the influx of summersfags came and they tried to act like elitist /jp/ers whining about everything. the regulars got tired of stupid fucks like aoc messing around with the content of the board and just peaced out. there wasn't janitors/moderation doing their job for the previous 2 years which allowed the culture to blossom.

shitheads like a-mod and aoc came in and took a shit all over the 2 years worth of culture the board built up and the gap fillers were retards from a who just found 4chan.

/jp/ was about entertainment regardless of how related/relevant to the board it was. it was old school /b/ with power users from /a/. moot had a meet up and no one went because fuck moot and the moderation/janitors. nowadays if moot tried to have a meet up half the newfags on the board would give him a rimjob and beg for a janitor/moderation to patrol their asshole.

>> No.7326497

>>7326469
The new posters who don't know the difference between /jp/ and /a/ aren't helping either.

It's still ok though, just not all day. Most of us probably don't have stable sleep cycles anyway.

>> No.7326528

>>7326497
Okay? That depends on what you want I guess. Over peak times it takes less than half a day for a thread to reach page 15, and about half and hour to reach page 3.

A lot of threads get 3 to five replies at most. Some actual /jp/ related threads only get the odd bump post to keep them alive but no actual discussion because everyone is replying to the retard threads spammed on front page.

But I guess it's okay.

>pinnacle of /jp/ was when we had true NEET in every thread, diaper threads, floor shitting, less people whining "quality", more people filtering trip users/spam, we all knew janitors were useless and would only fuck it up worse, and everyone was bros basically.

That was the most misguided, autistic, shitposting run on sentence misconception of the board I've ever read.

>the regulars got tired of stupid fucks like aoc messing around with the content of the board and just peaced out.

You mean the autistic shitposters who were spamming and flooding the board daily got mad that their shit was being deleted. The only people who were the most offended by AoC's recent and brief board management were the worst shit posters themselves, obviously.

>newfags on the board would give him a rimjob and beg for a janitor/moderation to patrol their asshole.

The majority of /jp/ only wanted a janitor who understood the board history and could clean up the /a/ shit and horrible shit posting.

/jp/ is perfect right about now. It'll get shitty again once the mod comes online, though.

Less meta, more metameta.

We have too many meta threads on JP. I suppose that it's otaku culture to bitch and whine about otaku culture, but seriously, guys?! It's pretty shitty to make shitty threads!

It's more like /jp/ is just too fucking terrible to use these days. I used to be here basically all day every day since Feb 2008 and I basically come here only a couple of times per day and very rarely post now since there's basically no good threads around besides the couple of obligatory event threads, and if I notice that potentially good threads now get ignored in favor of shitty ones.

You shouldn't respond to shitty threads to be ironic or whatever, just don't fucking respond to them ever and they will go away, shitposters samefag the everliving fuck out of their threads because they are trying to get a rise out of you, talking in them no matter what is failure.

I think it's also probable that some of the newfags here simply don't know what shitty threads even look like and hence cause their proliferation, let me break it down for you. Bad threads are:

Meta (like this one)
Off-topic
Something asking about anime or learning Japanese/translation (off topic)
Threads complaining about legitimate topics on the board
Obvious troll threads
Cross-board mannerisms/memes (/a/, /v/ etc). You don't have to act like a 15 year old trying to fit in and look cool on the fucking internet here. And if you are a 15 year old trying to look cool with EPIC MEMES XD, get out of /jp/.

This is fucking common sense, people.
