I can't say I would go to a concert. Knowing that I am an example of a Miku fan makes me scared, I wouldn't want to risk being surrounded by people similar to myself or worse.

And yes, I am referring to odor/weight/general cleanliness. The idea of the likelihood of being stuck near someone who might actually masturbate in public is also off-putting(that is a level above me but I imagine it exists).

The irony is that Kanye likes to use synthesizers, which is actually an area that Miku does really well, I think. You can easily replace synthesized and autotuned voices with vocaloids of about Miku's quality and do alright with it.

But Miku can't convincingly do something like a piano solo or a raunchy rock vocal. Anything that needs to sound convincingly, humanly real or just needs to be done with some 'tude can't be done by Miku.

I also want to see the quality of the holograms fro the concerts go up, too, because they also sit in a weird area that I don't understand how people don't feel ridiculously nerdy being in the audience of. Anime artstyles don't really do well when translates directly to 3D like that, and especially when the animation of those 2D-to-3D models tries too hard to be obedient to physics.

Between all the vocaloid originals and fanmade stuff, how do you separate the wheat from the chaff of vocaloid songs? For a while I only really liked the occasional song like Toeto or Hello Planet. Then I picked up on ファインダー and then all the re:package and re:mikus stuff, which was pretty much a fucking goldmine as far as I'm concerned. It's really too bad all that isn't much what I've heard out of the concerts.

I'm a bit on the old side with not much left in life, and I am just sad that my source of everyday smiles and cheerfulness seems even less likely to make it to my home soil. That's all. For me, Miku produces a feeling similar to what it must feel to like watch a daughter(complete with often adorably imperfect singing), and Lady Miku(the bastardized version of Tony's picture) might be great for appealing to younger folk or the mainstream, but it won't be carrying the charm I love the original Miku for.

It's hipster bullshit. But what's wrong with that? I can guarantee that we've all experienced some form of appreciation for a piece of work (art, video game, song, movie, etc.) and felt like it was "ruined" in some way due to some popularity it gained with a particular audience, or even an individual. That's going to happen all the fucking time with things like Miku. Things get popular, deal with it.

Ignoring the immediate need to explain how Toyota made it fucking terrible, you have no idea how much I'd like to see this thing air during a NASCAR race or something for the lulz. But on a quality level, man, what kind of debut are you supposed to be giving Miku with the lowest of Toyota's marketing department and a piece of crap Corolla? Everything about that commercial is just badly made, from the writing to the piss poor CG that doesn't match the concert footage to the awful song editing.

Well, this is too nebulous to be a real discussion. I wouldn't put much weight on it if I were you. There's no way I could possibly prove this empirically over the internet. I don't see what I could use as evidence in any case, all I have is personal experience.

I'll say is that there's a difference between "not being insulted or put down" and "not being taken seriously." It's a complicated matter, but I'd say unless you have some other very redeeming quality about you your chances of success with a female in modern society(I haven't been strictly talking about general social success here) will go down if you admit to being a fan of cute things, especially if she has been exposed to the content(MMD videos being an example). She may even be really interested and want to talk about it, but you'd never know it until you tried asking her out and she told you she just wants to be friends or assumed you were gay.

I've seen threads about that, and I think it fits the overall picture well. I think one thing /jp/ anons would really want is to be sexually desired, thus the popularity of "I wish to be the little girl" and the occassional femdom fetishists. A girl who would take control in bed would thus be good and help /jp/ with their insecurities and possible fear of sexual intimacy. Another thing the people here afraid of is that the girl wouldn't accept their /jp/ hobbies, and someone with a similar hobbies, a "bro" of a sort, would help with that aspect.

Especially for the more practical among us who would just like someone to hang out with and who would love them for who they are, this type would be ideal.

I don't think it's applicable to all virgin nerds out there. On average I'd say /jp/ is far gentler and more feminine than just any bunch of nerds, and also more romantic than many other types of nerds.

i'd say that's just a difference of being social and antisocial. we have users here who spend tremendous amounts of time in front of their computer collecting parts, stages, and information to create their virtual wives and then enacting their every fantasy, and find them more appealing than actually interacting with anyone. they'll purposely avoid interacting with friends and maybe even family so they have more time to interact with said idea-girls. i don't even have to mention the extremity of the fetishes being enacted or their social situation and it's already stranger than i would have imagined five years ago.

no, i was posting as a reaction to your statement that they're further out there than us, that's all. while interesting to me, this is kind of a foolish discussion so i'll just stop here. i'll admit live-action social fetishism is pretty strange(but only the social aspect of it), but so are some of the things i've described, just in an opposite direction from the norm as /tg/ has taken(assuming the information discussed here is correct).
